Think Jarvis Landry ran a 4.77 and Boldin was 4.7 something
You're right on both, and both turned out all right. Mind you, @DzRams , I really wouldn't mind Restrepo if we got him with a sixth; I just think the 40 is too slow to be an effective receiver.
Production does matter, but the context of that production matters more. Michael Crabtree was insanely productive at Texas Tech, but he never translated that to the pros (because the college system he came out of was bullshit that would never work in the NFL and he ran a limited route tree). Plus, it didn't help that his attitude sucked.
I like production as much as the next guy, but if it mattered that much, we'd be hearing Dillon Gabriel's name in the first three rounds of the draft instead of him being lucky if he scratches out a career as a backup. If the routes the receivers run didn't matter, Brian Quick would've been a success story instead of a cautionary tale.
Athletic traits matter, too. And while I'd want a little more separation from TeSlaa, the fact that he is that big, athletic, and powerful (seventeen reps on the bench) and that he doesn't drop passes, even with people all over him makes him more valuable as a sixth round pick than Restrepo would be as a fourth.
Just my opinion.
