Wow!!

The Eagles have given up on Carson Wentz for now.

Jalen Hurts will start for the Eagles on Sunday against the Saints, the team announced, sending the former No. 2 pick Wentz to the bench.

“I have come to a decision and I am going to go with Jalen Hurts this week against New Orleans. I looked at the whole thing and decided that for this week to look for that spark again to try to get the team over the hump,” head coach Doug Pederson said in a quote released by the team.

Desperate decision by a coach who might well get fired. This could be the thing that gets him fired.

Doug is trying to do whatever he can to save his own ass. Not to say Wentz hasn’t been hot garbage this season, or that Hurts could really provide a spark, but Pederson is on the hot seat.

I know a lot of people aren’t high on Hurts but I always thought he was cold blooded and mentally tough. We’ll see how he does!

Gets him fired and given him a partial excuse.
They’ve been riddled with injuries but they have been stinky bad.

Yeah, I doubt that Hurts does any better than Wentz - and I think that Wentz is a bust.

I don't want to see any more coaches get fired this year. The more coaches that get fired, the higher the chance of losing Staley

I hate to speak kind of Rat Face but you look at a team like the 49ers who have been snake bitten by injuries as well and somehow remain competitive in the toughest division in football. Then you look at the Eagles and Pederson. A complete shit show in the easiest division in the NFC. Doug is a problem and so is Wentz.

Let them release Wentz and see who gets a job first. Wentz would get a starting job quickly. Teams like NO and NYJ are looking for their future.

Pederson is desperate and it shows.

Hard to believe how far Wentz, Pedersen and the iggles have fallen since that SB. I felt like the Rams were on a similar trajectory for a while last season. It's a tough business.

Well, the Carson Wentz era is over in Philly. You don't bench a starter who can play and expect him to forgive that. He may deserve it, but I expect Wentz to play for a different team next year.

Wentz has terrible accuracy problems. That NEVER works on this level of football.

Word on the street is that the guy is mentally weak. He got hurt with the city worshipping Foles, got hurt when they drafted Hurts and I'm sure now he's hurt because he's riding the bench. Dude never elevated his play after Foles won them the Superbowl, just went down a black hole of misery.

It wasn't so long ago that Pederson was being lauded for his amazing job coaching. Many here didn't buy it. Why does the media get so carried away?

Looks like Pederson wants Wentz to come in and save the day after Hurts is terrible
