According to multiple reports, Williams, who is a Jacksonville native, has agreed to sign with the Jaguars once the new league year starts on Wednesday afternoon. It’s a three-year deal for Williams worth $30 million with $18 million in guaranteed money. The value could rise as high as $39 million.

Time for Rochell & Long....Most will think it's Rochell's time plus I'm sure the Rams will add another CB during the draft, but I felt Long improved after a horrendous game in week 4 against Arizona. I know the Rams kept Jonathan Cooley as the new Secondary Coach anxious to see who his assistant is, but hopefully Rochell is more durable and Long continues to improve plus there are some others in Tyler Hall & Kareem Orr too.

Good for him. I would not want him at that price. Williams took a step back last year. Having said that, he also found himself marking #1 WRs on a decently frequent basis, when Ramsey was in the star position. Not sure he is suited for that role. And that's no fault of his own.

I was hoping Williams would get a bigger contract, even if just by virtue of being a CB, to return a nice comp pick. But you can't fault a guy for going home even if he had some bigger offers on the table.

CB is definitely a need now. We have Ramsey and a bunch of unknowns. That won't do in today's pass happy NFL for a team looking to run it back. Though Long Jr. improved in shockingly dramatic fashion as the year went on, going from complete liability to plus contributor. I hope that trajectory continues.

I hope Williams does well in Jacksonville. He's made a nice career for himself since leaving Baltimore!

I hate to lose any free agents, but that's life.
Williams had a down year stat wise.....maybe a good deal of that was teams staying away from Ramsey and picking on Williams by default.
Happy for him.
He fought the fight to get starter money.
But, he is replaceable.

Jags are certainly re-building with all their new free agent acquisitions, ... will the coaches be capable of pulling them all together ?

Good for Darious. He's set for life.

He's been a solid starter. Heck of a player for the Rams.

Someone needs to step into that role... Rochelle probably the lead horse, but no doubt we add at CB in the draft.

Jacksonville... what a HUGE offseason so far upgrading their talent.

It's the right move to let him walk.
To me it depends on who we get to replace him and what we pay. He was solid with us and I would have been ok with resigning him at a fair price. I for one, would love us to get Bradberry from the Giants since that's a trade that wouldn't affect our comp picks.

Hindsight and all but should we have kept Troy Hill and let Wiliams go last year?

Hill was in a contract year and Williams had one more left, so it was cheaper to let Hill go and let Williams play out his final year.

Thanks for your time here D Will. Some days I cheered you, others days you made the phrase WTF a common occurrence during a game. Good luck in Jacksonville. I’d laugh if Meyers were still there, you’ll have a chance with Peterson.

Troy Hill got beat like a red headed step child against GB last season. And Williams playoff performance was steller this season. So, no.
I expect they are going to regret signing him just like the other teams who have signed Rams CBs in the recent past on the market. He benefitted from the rush and had a down season even when considering we won it all.

I expect he will be a cut in the next year or two like most low end starters signed away in FA. Even if the Rams had kept him I would have been worried about our cb room. He doesn't really move that bar IMO.

But all that aside congrats to him on getting paid.

Did not realize how old D Will is He just turned 29
Yeah - he was 24 as an UDFA. Reasonably low mileage though. I’m not overly worried about DWill leaving - Long Jr didn’t have a bad post season and Rochell was a rookie. Plus there will be some cheaper vets out there that are scheme fits
