And btw I feel bad for Brees. Hate to see quality players get hurt, he's such a good dude that I hope he gets back sooner vice later and gets them into the playoffs.

Because I know the Rams will throttle the Saints again with him at QB. And I hope to see it.

Brees might be a "good guy" but he certianly piled on the "boo hoo we're such victims we were robbed mentality" so my sympathy right now is pretty low

Didn't realize that--disappointing if true. Thought he was above all the crybaby junk.

Brees will be aggressive with his re-hab so I expect him back sooner rather than later. Just look at his approach when he injured his shoulder. If he misses the next 6 games I think the Saints will be at best 3-3 during that time. Considering how weak that division is 12-4 wins it easily. But it could force them to play that extra game.

If the Rams are in the top two seeds it means the Saints and Rams might not meet if the Aints get knocked off. IMO last years Aint offense was clearly better than this year's version. They will go only as far as their defense which is good but has kinks in it's armor, will take them. The Aint defense still has no answer for the Ram offense. It continues to be a bad match up for them.

As we saw, the strength of the Aint defense is their front 4. Control them and they can be beaten. Get up big on them and that defense might quit again.

It does sound aggressive.

More like irresponsible. From what I have read, this type of injury has you in a cast for 6 weeks alone, and 2 weeks plus to even get some kind of movement and range with phy therapy. I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't play this year.

Now that our purposes are done with them, I wish Brees was healthy and would go hand Seattle its 1st loss.
Rams have never not been in 1st under McVay and I don't want that streak to ever end.

exactly. my son had the same injury earlier this year. he had to keep his thumb in the removable cast for weeks. his thumb still wasn't at full strength after three months. sure he's not a professional athlete getting round the clock treatment but still, if brees can't grip the ball 100% he's not gonna be out there.

I have personally met Brees on more than one occasion even after he left San Diego. I wouldn't be so quick to count him out. It all depends upon the severity of the injury. People counted him out after his shoulder injury and he came back months earlier than most expected. He's in New Orleans because doctors in both San Diego and Miami believed he needed longer. The man is driven and I've seen first hand what people with that kind of commitment can do to heal their bodies.

There are two wildcards in all this. Brees is 40 now and most importantly his contract expires at the end of the season. He wasn't likely to get another which is why it was so important for the Aints to hang on to Bridgewater and why Teddy went back. Brees intentionally restructured his contract last year voiding his final year in 2020. The signs were there last year that he was getting ready to retire at the end of this season. I think he just wants one last hurrah. Even optimistically the season is half over when he can come back. Would it be worth it if Teddy is playing well? I don't think they would want to light that candle for a few months more of Drew. Remember Teddy is on a one year deal. If he's playing well, he could get angry and go elsewhere.

If Teddy begins to play well in their weak division, then this could have been Drew's last game.

Love me some Drew Brees and sad he got hurt like that. Over the Whiny Ass Saints fans. Happy they get this in their faces.

Amazing how when they have a bad call against them they cry and pout over it but when they get one for instance against the Steelers last year it’s okay. Disappointed for those few logical saints fans because I’d like to see them come out the south.

And at 40 years old, we old dogs can tell you, the healing process takes forever! Something that I could shake off in a week, now takes takes 2 or 3 weeks. It's scary getting old. You won't ever see me on a skateboard again!

Just do what I did... swap out your normal sized board for a super long board. You're not gonna be getting any air or lips... but you can still safely ride. Mine is HUGE and pretty safe.

Report: Drew Brees pushing to return from thumb injury in Week 8

The New Orleans Saints have won three games in a row under Teddy Bridgewater and should be in great shape whenever Drew Brees returns from his thumb injury, and all signs point to that happening sooner rather than later.

Brees has been rehabbing hard and says he understands the risks associated with rushing back, and some believe the Saints will hold him out through their Week 9 bye to give him a couple of extra weeks of rest. However, Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reports that Brees is pushing to return in Week 8, which would mean he misses just two more games.

Bridgewater’s steady performance has given the Saints the ability to be patient. He has completed over 70 percent of his passes and has a passer rating of 99.5, proving why New Orleans chose to make him the highest-paid backup quarterback in football. The Saints have tough road games coming up against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears, but they would still have an impressive 5-2 record if they won just one of them.

Brees posted some Instagram videos over the weekend that showed him already throwing passes less than three weeks after undergoing thumb surgery, though they may have been a bit deceiving. We know how competitive he is and how badly he wants to return, but making sure he is 100 percent healthy and not at risk of re-injuring the thumb is the top priority for the Saints.

The Saints would be stupid to bring him back before the bye. Thus I hope they do so.

That's borderline hopeful/wishful/irresponsible.
