Drew Brees impressed with Jared Goff after Pro Bowl

Drew Brees had glowing remarks for Jared Goff after spending time together during Pro Bowl week. "I think a ton of him," Brees said. "It was really great to be around him this week. You see what he's such a good player and was able to have the season that he did this year. The future is so bright for a guy like that. I love his demeanor. I love his approach."

To paraphrase Drew Brees, "I'm happy to have a trailer like Jared Goff in my conference. Real tractors like me will enjoy beating the Rams every year with Jared at QB, except for this year because I stubbed my toe before the game and couldn't pull my team."

That is the thing about Jared Goff. There is not a moment to Big & in fact embraces it.
He is a little bit of a goof , but he has such a passion for the game.My call is he gives The Rams a discount on his contract just to keep apart of the team.

Bree’s wasn’t the best at SD , but had a great group of QB’s in Flutie & Rivers.
Why the Chargers get hurt was beyond me ? They could have got huge compensation for him.

Jared said he loved the experience.

I think his growth will be even more improved. I have a SeahGs fan friend who says he sucks & it is only good because of McVay calling the plays up until 15 seconds . Now that the NFL won’t allow it any more he won’t be any good.

I look back at Vikings game & think he did ok getting plays from the sideline. McVay seemed to have some problems then. I think The Rams are always looking to improve & McVay holds himself to the highest level.

Three reasons that the sun will shine in Seattle
  1. Brian Schottenheimer (New Offensive Coordinator)
  2. Mike Solari (New OL Coach)
  3. Ken Norton, Jr., (New Defensive Coordinator)

The NFL won't allow what?

Huh? So they're going to stop every team in the league, on both offense and defense, from talking to their QB or defensive play caller. I highly doubt it. I think your friend is pulling your leg.

A lot of Southern Cal influence there.

Weird thought Shotty was Sark for a second . Yeah - not a fan of Seahags.
Hope they struggle .

My cred as a Rams fan is not good. Losing in the playoffs took that away real fast

Sheesh, I love the Rams and I am stoked about Goff’s future, but... wonder if there are others out there who thought Goff’s performance on the last drive of the Pro Bowl was a big let-down.

I know I know, it wasn’t a “real” game. All the more reason why I wanted to see Goff come through on a two-min drive when the stakes were pretty low.

Goff has never led the Rams to a game-winning score with less than 5 min remaining in a game. Never. Not vs Seattle in first game, not vs Dallas, not vs Tenn, either (defense closed it). Frankly, I never saw him do that at Cal, either (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong).

I am sorry but fumbling the ball away on the game-deciding drive was a big disappointment to me, and reminded me of losses to WAS and Phil where he commits a game-deciding turnover at crunch time.

My #1 hope for Goff is to prove he can lead a game winning drive in crunch time. The end of the pro bowl just added to my concern about this. Again, I am a fan of Goff and optimistic about his future, but just being honest about my #1 concern for him: the ability to be clutch under extreme pressure.

Did Kurt Warner lead more than five 2 min drives to win games in the 4th in 99-2001? I don't remember. Prob not, because we were always winnning!! 2000 vs Seattle and 2001 vs Eagles is all I remember.
Bulger in 2003 did a pretty good job with that---I think (Chicago game)

Yep. He's not Joe Montana yet. Kid's got stuff to work on and the two minute is at the top, as is throwing on the move with better accuracy. Sean & him will handle the two minute growth I am sure, while the throwing on the move undoubtedly will be worked on during his offseason workout stuff with Tom House and his ilk.

It amazes people think he is not a leader because he is not a rah rah guy.
Leadership can vary widely. Showing up and working hard all the time (even if nothing is said this keep other guys accountable), being supportive and being able to execute, not being overwhelmed, expecting things to go well but no panicking or throwing guysnunder the bus when they don't....all these things can make guys leaders.
Nothing as over rated as the rah rah dude.

Wow, now critical of Goff in the friggin Pro Bowl, a game below even preseason level when guys are probably going half assed effort tops?

Goff worked his tail off last off season with McVay and on his own to have the type of year that no one, and I mean no one thought he'd have.

Of course since he's only 23, this is the beginning, as he admits. He'll continue to grind and work on his deficiencies. The fact he was picking Brees' head over pro bowl week should speak volumes on how he wants to get better and will.

Drew was impressed when jared threw 3 first half tds against the saints last season. Jared was in the pro bowl his second year in the leauge and went 28-7 td int ratio!

The pro bowl : his blockers were being thrown around and somehow the seahags LT ended up on the right side against von miller . Advantage miller!

Jared is doing fine and no he didn't have many game winning drives because he's on a good team. Stafford always gets alot game winning drives and how many playoff games has he won?

Jared led many comeback drives. Some of his receivers chose not to participate in his heroism. I’m not worried. They will come around.

He did a hell of a job of getting the Rams in position to win that game, including firing a pretty good pass for the GW TD..... However, he can't throw the ball AND catch it....he's not Mariota!!! :)
