Brockers is a 3T being played out of position at 5T. He lacks the speed and quickness to play outside. His successes last year were setup by AD, Fowler, and the secondary. He isn't as strong at the POA on runs as he should be. In fact, Ebukam sets a much harder edge than Brockers. That said he's an improvement over Okoronkwo and provides them with an affordable option to playing Lewis too hard too early and Okoronkwo who's lack of athleticism showed in his snaps last year. I wouldn't be surprised to see Okoronkwo move to the left side of the defense as he is too often stymied by better LT's.

But with the drafting of Lewis, I see Brockers role as being a 2 year 2 down place holder for Lewis. Because of his injury history, Lewis is a long way from being a finished product. Brockers gives the Rams 2 years to develop Lewis into the elite edge he is capable of being. IMO Lewis will see significant snaps this season, but in rotation with not only Brockers but Floyd and perhaps Ebukam as well. I think the Rams will develop him into a complete edge/OLB they envision he is capable of being.

Brockers a 3tech? Brockers 5tech being replaced by Lewis? Where did you get this stuff?

should be able to point to a game and say Brockers dominated and took the game over. I’ve never seen it. That’s with Donald drawing special attention from the O line.

did you see what happened to the rams d against the falcons in the playoffs when brockers couldn't come out for the 2nd half?

Brockers is a better 4-3 defensive tackle than he is in the 3-4. He is durable, will get you 5-6 sacks every year, and is great against the run. And he's a leader type of guy in the locker room. What more could you ask for.
