I bet the Rams would score 4 touchdowns or more and that the Charges would have more turnovers and give a ways than the Rams. Somehow I lost these two bets, am I missing something?

and turnovers were tied at 2

so thats that

Does the blocked punt for a touchdown not count as a turnover? Because Allen and Ekeler both lost fumbles.

Apparently only if the kicking team recovers its own blocked punt and forwards it for a first down. Because the punt is a fourth down play, if the kicking team does not get a first down, it is considered a zero gain on fourth.

Once the punter makes contact, the ball goes to the other team.

Even if the Rams blocked the punt and recovered it on the 5...still not a turnover since it would have been Rams ball anyway.

Basically a turnover only counts when a team loses the ball without kicking it

Thanks, I didn't know that.

Now I understand, thanks.
It was a fair question though. In a way, it makes sense to view a blocked punt as a turn over. Technically, it is not however. I do believe a muffed punt recovered by the punting team qualifies as a fumble as I read the rules. @flv Is that a fair assessment?

Since we're asking questions, what if on 4th down the punter fakes a punt and throws an interception and the defense fumbles that interception and the punter himself recovers said fumble?

3 questions

1. Can he proceed to punt the football in that situation?

2. How many turnovers is that?

3. Finally, are these just sportsbooks rules or do they reflect the actual rules and stats that are used in the official box score?
