Do the Rams not have an identity? ESPN.com Rams Insider Nick Wagoner tells “The Fast Lane.”

Listen to Wagoner Talk Rams Identity

Do the Rams have an identity?

Yes,....they are a team populated by gifted athletes, adrift in a sea of expectation, disappointment, ill planning and misfortune. They are lead by a rye OLE veteran, but (IMO), either slightly or to some others (significantly) behind the curve as to what it takes in order to be successful (win) in today's NFL conference. The fact of the matter is, the Rams remain at the head of the (bottom third) of NFL teams...by almost every poll or result over the past 3 years.

This team needs a leader, a catalyst, someone to rally behind....in short a starting QB. Some of you believe it's (still) Bradford, others hope it's AD or perhaps a free agent and even some others possibly (gasp) a high level draft pick. Me, I don't know what the answer is. I am convinced however, that without a descent QB, this team is going no-where. I also believe that whatever remains of this season, will likely be directed towards determining just which players do or do not fit going forward....I hope that also includes both the coaches and coordinators (hint, hint).

IMO, it's simply a lost season, they'd be well advised to make the most of it and find out at long last, just what sort of a team this needs to be AND what offensive philosophy best matches their objectives.. Because at this point, at least for me, it's been a total cluster fuck.

And for those who believe in a run first philosophy....great if you can dominate.....but whatever happened to just being "balanced"?....oh yes, and efficient....then there's always execution and planning/adjustments...oh my, I'm starting to run out of adjectives (sigh).

I agree with the lost season scenario and think we are wasting time with the likes of Wells and Joseph taking snaps on the Oline. If Barnes and Jones are healthy they should be on the field. It is time to build for net year, if Davis is the sacrificial lamb so be it, he is not the answer at QB

With 9 games to go, this seasons is far from over or lost!!

They have already played nine games and are at 3-6 even if there was a miracle and they won the remaining 7 they may not make the playoffs.

Your correct, it is 7 games, Fraudian slip. But I'm not sure IF we Win 7 it won't put us in the Play-off picture!

This , my friends, is the sign of an eternal optimist. Hell, Dave is actually hoping the Rams get 2 do-overs this season !!!

They do have an identity, it's called being a defensive team due to having a defensive head coach. Over the past four games Fisher has finally fielded a defense that is worthy of our expectations, so yeah at this point there is no doubt about it, that is the identity of this team and will be moving forward.

I'd like to include a power running game in that equation, but they're just not consistent enough with the passing game to balance things yet. Personally I don't think they ever will be, either, as long as Schotty is the OC. If he's the OC next year Fish needs to draft and sign dominant OL to ensure the running game will succeed in the face of a loaded box, but even then in the NFC West the defenses will be good enough to force our offense to punt too much.

Schotty needs to go, IMO. Bring in a hot young OC who is a strong teacher of the passing game. Spread the field like the Eagles do and make sure the running game is there against the 7 man fronts they'll see. QB has to be solved too, but I think restructure of Bradford's contract plus a high draft pick and Davis will provide enough options to ensure they field an improved offense over this product we suffer through weekly.

We had more of an offensive identity last year.

Our DL is coming around. We are physical, fast, and deep. I am sure the opposing OL spends some extra time with the trainer after facing us.

Other teams know the Rams as a team with a dominant defensive line... they know they will have to get the ball out quick as hell, otherwise their QB could be killed. The Ram front 7 on D is feared.

We're also known as a team that you better not go to sleep on when you're playing special teams. Our special teams are feared.

Everything else is still a work in progress,,, and we're playing with backup QBs.

There it is.

The issues with the offense may keep the team from the playoffs but I'd love to see them at 8-8 for the season! They may get there with Hill at qb!

unfortunately, it'll never happen under Fish

They have several identities. I cheer for the Sybil of football teams. :(

Let's just hope the one from Indy last year is the one that comes up this weekend. :)
