The 2021 team was LOADED with talent, and it took a lot of luck to win the SB. I'm not going to get my hopes up only to let them let me down inevitably. I watch because I want to see our young players develop, and see some magic from Stafford. IMO, next year is the year we have a real chance, but only if we nail the draft and FA. You can drink the koolaid and be delusional all you want.
The 2021 Rams were obviously good, but they couldn't run the ball, and they had their fair share of injuries. They did not have a dominant roster in the playoffs.

Their starting RB had an ruptured achillies 8 months earlier. The OL run blocking kind of sucked. They were down to their 4th TE and their WR Corp was a mess outside of Kupp. Beckham was just getting acclimated, but then was hurt in the SB. Jefferson was turteling up when things got tough, and Skowronek and his stone hands had to play a lot of snaps.

They had a dominant DL that essentially carried them along with Stafford & Kupp.

I do agree that next year is the year, and maybe 26' if Stafford is still here and playing well. The roster should be in great shape if healthy in 25' & 26', probably better than 21'.

Absolutely.

Rams have shown a ton of heart and grit this year after all the injuries and the 1-4 start. Going 6-2 after the bye has been (yet another) thrill ride. God freaking bless Sean McVay!

Probably gonna have to go at least 3-1 to make the playoffs, and if they do, hell yeah they deserve a spot.

McVay knows how crucial it is to hit the playoffs right as the team is peaking. (I recall him discussing the importance of this with Belichick.) If the Rams get in the Playoffs... and hit their stride... and keep the good mojo without injuries... we just might "party like it's 1979."

The 21 team was putrid in November.

Stafford was a pick 6 machine that month.

They got better in December but when they lost to the whiners in the last game after having a huge lead we all lost it on the team.

Fortunately once the playoffs started the Rams signed weddle, who seemed to transform the secondary. Morris became way more aggressive and the defense benefited as a result.

Plus Stafford turned all world on the league. The best I've seen a qb play in the playoffs. If he does that again this season the Rams can easily win out in the playoffs.

Gotta make it first.

So long as we win our games, we'll make it. Make our own luck, forge our own destiny.

A wiser person than me once said, "We're only owed a life and a death." Something similar is like this in sports. The only thing about sports that fans, players, and people involved with the team deserve is having a beginning and end to a season.

We might as well enjoy the ride for what it is because quite frankly, it's a hell of a ride.

I hate the word "deserve." Nobody deserves a damn thing in this world. Go earn that shit Rams, starting this Thursday.

This thought occurred to me as I watched the Bills (and the refs) impart their will on our defense.

Then I realized, they:
  • beat the Vikings (11-1 not counting Rams)
  • beat the Bills (10-2 not counting Rams)
  • were an OT coin flip away from beating the Lions (11-1 not counting Rams)
So I can forget about the Cardinals and Eagles games and ask the rest of the NFL: Who from the bubble teams is MORE WORTHY than us?
Deserves has got nothing to do with it. If they win the division then they are in.

I don't think this team has the defense to get to a Super Bowl, but overall they've got a good enough team to win some games in the playoffs.

As Dennis Green once said, "you are who your record says you are". If the Rams make the playoffs, they will absolutely deserve to make the playoffs. Right now, they have the 8th best record in the NFC. If they win the West, they will most certainly have at least the 7th best record in the NFC, maybe better depending on how the South plays out. When we're right....meaning the offense/McVay's specialty.....we can play with anybody. The D is still learning.

I have another BTW, let's say the Rams end up 10-7 and don't win the division. That Commodes hail Mary might be the play that keeps the Rams from being a WC. Without it the Comanders would be 7-6 right now.
Yeah I mentioned that a couple of weeks ago. That the Bears cost us 2 games.

In life, if one sets their sights on a goal and stumbles at any point along the way, the best course of action is to quit.

Because seldom in history has anyone ever come back from a mistake, stumble, fall, or bad day.
And if for some reason, one does navigate a path to victory after realizing setbacks or unplanned adversity—it's important to remember the path to victory was tainted—and thus, not deserved.

If they win the division they could very well be the 3 seed. Hard to believe.

Which would mean a likely rematch with the Packers at SoFi. Who knows, if the Comanders upset the Eagles in the 7-2 game (they have traditionally played the Eagles tough), then we host the winner of the 4-5 game.

First things first, have to win at least 3 of the last 4.
