Agree that Carroll is not an offensive rocket scientist. But Wilson is another matter.

It may be a drill that everyone knows how to defend, but Wilson has been amazingly successful at making off schedule plays to win games in the 4th quarter. You can stop him all day and he can beat you with one play at the end.

Seattle will be a threat in our division as long as they have Wilson.

Maybe, but Pete wont.

The problem with the Hawks is exactly the same one that plagued the Rams, i.e. a poor o-line. Waldron has seen that first hand in LA from watching the Hawks and watching the Rams during their 2019 o-line debacle. If Waldron simply focuses upon rebuilding the o-line watch out. They have the QB, WRs, TE and RBs. Change the scheme to a power run attack and with Wilson at QB they will be very dangerous if they give their QB time. IMO, that is one of the reasons they hired Waldron.

They need to totally rebuild their defense. I'm sorry but Adams isn't worth what they gave up. I said it when the trade was made and I'm even more convinced now. Adams is a blitzer that's it. He's at best average in coverage. Rapp and Fuller are better than Adams. I wouldn't be surprised if Seattle outbids the Rams for Johnson and Hill both of whom are good but not worth what they will be offered.

IMO the Hawks are 2 years away from rebuilding their team.

Did we break the Seahags? I hope we did. I really fucking hope we did. Sick of Carroll's gum-chewing face.

Great topic. It sure looks like the playoff loss was a gut punch.

But, maybe we woke them up? The Seahawks have been wasting Wilson with poor oline play for years. Wilson is openly pointing it out now. And...

How much will we miss Brian Schottenheimer for burning Wilson’s prime years 30, 31, 32 to his sloth of an offense? Sad to see him go.

I can certainly see a scenario like @oldnotdead points out.

If Waldron simply focuses upon rebuilding the o-line watch out. They have the QB, WRs, TE and RBs. Change the scheme to a power run attack and with Wilson at QB they will be very dangerous if they give their QB time.

We brought them back to reality. I think it's honestly one of the most weird 12-4 teams I've seen, won almost all their games by one score, their identity completely changed mid season, etc.
We had our own snap back to reality against the Packers a week later.

It feels a bit like that was the end of an era though, might see a decline from them. CAN'T WAIT FOR THAT.
Remind you of any other weird 12-4 at the end of an Era?

Our loss to them hinged on an ill advised pass that gave them a stop and killed our momentum. If he eats the ball on that play, we have a 2nd down around the Squawk's 30. And probably at least a FG and their offense sputters the rest of the afternoon, just like it has the last few times we played them (and that kills all of their supposed momentum going into the playoffs...). It probably doesn't get us the #3 seed, but it's a better rebound from the previous week.

But to your question.......Yes, it was us who showed everyone how to shut down the Seattle offense.

Seems like qbs are no longer willing to sit and play in a situation that they feel is less than ideal, at least without saying something about it. Wilson, Stafford, Watson, Rogers, they’ve all got something to say about the way the franchise is being run. It’s really interesting, not too long ago it was out of the question to dump a guy like Stafford but maybe this is the next thing, if you have a star you better do all you can to win or he’ll be trying to force his way out the door.

That is exactly what each team should be doing," all they can do to win".

True, but sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. Most every move the rams made in 17 and 18 worked out great, but there was a lot of super bowl talk in Dallas the last few years and they got nothing to show for it.

Yup. They've been the luckiest team in recent memory and now water is finding its level.

I fear as long as the midget is playing at a high level Seattle will be in the hunt.
The midget finished the season with one of the worst QB play in the NFL. Once teams started playing deep and taking away his long bombs he was terrible. Carroll was actually correct. Wilson was more dangerous when they ran the ball effectively. Russ cooked early but when the games counted Russ mostly sucked azz.

He played worse at the end of the season for sure. Seeing as he was the shoe in MVP early but anything else is an overstatement. 4,200+ yds and 40 tds. Come on. I’d take that any year from any ram qb.

It's kind of amazing what Wilson has done behind some of the lines he's had. I mean QBing behind lines tooled to run the ball is not for everyone.

I wonder if Paul Allen, who passed away in 2018, was part of the glue that held it them together? I truly believe the Rams would not be the same franchise if Stan passed away.

Yeah as Rams fans should be well aware the owner is absolutely crucial. Here's their current owner:
