Ignoring his continued mental errors...can he really improve his hands? I don't think catching balls on a jugs machine is going to make any player that much better at catching. There's a reason "hands" are a characteristic that teams look for when drafting a player. Some people can catch. Some can't.

I could be wrong... but I seem to think Chris Carter had a problem with drops early in his career.

Besides; in Quick's case... things are just slowing down for him. He's not all the way there. But he's making progress. Which is what we look for.

I agree he's making progress in the other parts of the game like route running, blocking, etc. but I'm not sure his hands are getting any better. I hope you're right about being able to improve hands. That's all I can say about him.

He's getting there, obviously he like everyone else on our team had let the Panthers get in his head and that probably contributed into that drop. Looked like he was thinking about celebrating before catching it and showing them up.

He's just getting better and better. I think it'll start to come together soon.

The drops bother me. He dropped a TD and that's tough. I was impressed though with his performance. Step forward.

He dropped passes before the game started getting chippy/out of control.

All our recievers need to spend time at the Jugg machine

You know... that's not just a tongue and cheek idea. The drops gotta stop.

After practice spend another 30 catching balls, fellas!

Torry used to catch 200 balls a day with no drops after practice and even on non practice days. You ain't gonna get better doing the same old thing, sometimes you may need to put in extra work. And I know BQuick isn't because he drops just as many balls

What people don't understand is that he's a rare breed.. He cannot only go deep, But he's also a red zone target and can work the middle.
He can be our complete package.. He's almost there and we can see it, The dude just needs to get those hands right.. But I remember T.O having
issues with drops as well.. Quick will be awesome sooner rather than later.

Thats exactly how I feel. He will be our best receiver soon enough

He's getting open. That's a big part of the equation.

I'm feeling pretty good about Quick right now.

He only gets a few years though. If it doesn't start to really improve, you gotta make moves. He's getting better though.

I think if he continues to get the playing time he got today he will improve

But he has improved.. He's improved a ton since his rookie year. He's going nowhere with Fisher and Snead still here.

We haven't had a WR with all these traits since Holt and Bruce. We have gotten only specialist who haven't been special.

1)Brandon Gibson, Slow possession WR with good YAC ability.. Not a deep threat nor a red zone target.
2)Donnie Avery, Speed WR.
3)Givens, Speed WR and a deep threat.
4)Salas, Slow WR and hasn't made a impact for any team.
5)Pettis, Slow possession WR and a redzone target.
6)Mardy Gilyard, Crazy dude.
7)Tavon Austin, Speed WR.

Remember when he was drafted our WR coach loved him.. He compared him to Owens who he had personally coached..

It looked like he took snaps away from Pettis today, IMO.

Yes, he had two drops. The TD drop was particularly painful.

But; he was active. He got separation. Drew defensive penalties. Showed fire.

Had he not dropped that TD he'd have had a 2-TD / 100yd came. Instead finished with 97yds.

If last year it was going 1000 mph... it's still going 100 mph for the guy.

Today was an encouraging day, despite the drops.

I agree. I think it was a HUGE statement game for Brian Quick. For the first time (in my opinion) he was RELEVANT. It's too bad he's not going to have a good QB throwing him the ball for the rest of the season. I really hope it doesn't stop his progression.
