If the coaches think what we have now is an upgrade to Kendrick, this move is a positive… he was good enough to earn playing time before.

I do like Kendrick at this price point as a backup.

With all the penalties and lack of consistency he is not yet starter quality and is a liability.

But he does make a play or two here and there and with a bit more consistency could really help in a backup role.

All we can do is hope he has gotten a bit smarter in his 4th year. He wasn't the worst corner we ever had and he was a 6th round pick. If he makes the team, that is.

I am not a Kendrick hater like some. He is Ram for now so I am rooting for him to excel. Kendrick has to prove he belongs. He could end up being the primary backup for Lake at the star position.. One thing that Kendrick has going for him is that he has good size and is physical. I think he is motivated to prove he belongs so the Rams will get his best.

The big question for him is he fully recovered from the ACL.

Note: Did a quick search and the min. salary for someone with 3 years of experience is listed as 1.1 million. So a 2.3 mil cap savings if he sticks.

I'm glad I waited to comment on this thread. If the Rams like him at a lower price, that's great. I hope he matures into a reliable backup and develops into a capable starter when needed.
