To the PLAYERS, I'll never question your toughness ever again. You stood up, and knocked the 49ers out when it mattered most. I'm so proud of you all, and thankful for you all.

To the COACHES, I know we go through turmoil and questionable decisions, but I'm so thankful for you all. And wouldn't trade you you for anything.

To the FRONT OFFICE AND OWNER, thank you for being so aggressive, and putting now before the future year after year and it paying off.

To you fellow FANS, I love you all. I know I'm just the drunk, hog farming, arm rest GM/COACH who knows most things all the time (obviously), but I really do respect and appreciate each and every one of you. We may have our disagreements, and arguments, but that's our PASSION. I wouldn't trade any of you for anything.

Congrats to us all, RAMS NATION.

ONE. MORE. GAME.

Unless Reeder is blitzing, I feel good about Jones & Howard as out ILB's moving forward.
Yeah me too all though Howard has been a walking injury his whole career so far. Every season I get hyped up because I think he'll be really good and then he's injured. So still need to draft an ILB'er at some point but overall I'd be happy with Jones/Howard when healthy.

I might be reaching but Reeder seems like someone who could possibly be a defensive end in a 4-3 if he added 10-20 pounds. He just doesn't quite have enough speed to be an all around lb'er but has good strength and speed between the tackles. Idk, the Whiners were the best team at exploiting him so I'm just glad we got over that hump at least.

He does rush the passer extremely well.

Not sure if he would be quick enough as a DE though.

I'm not hating Reeder. He has his strengths. But Morris doesn't use them properly enough times. He only blitzed Reeder once on a 3rd and long and guess what - the one time he did - the Rams forced an almost sack into an interception.

Morris has trouble recognizing strengths of his players and we almost lost this game because of it.

And I am worried that this may cost us the Super Bowl if he doesn't use his players strengths enough times.

But yes - this is also a celebration so I should stop putting down Morris and using Reeder as an example of Morris major shortcoming as a DC and how he uses his players incorrectly.

Go Rams.
This isn't a Morris thing though. Reeder has been a starter for 3 different DCs, and none of them have used him like you're saying on a consistent basis. Staley did that once against WAS.

Seeing AD one the sideline talking to the defense, I had a feeling the D was not going to let the whiners drive the ball on their last possession.
That was the difference, the last time we played them the d line was toast and they walked down the field and scored a td to force OT. This time they were ready.

WoW! can we change the title to I hater Reeder.
I guess even in a win to go to the superbowl we have to have a whooping boy.
My take is probably the same a many. Reeder plays with a lot of passion and energy and is best close to the LOS and blitzing, and against the run. He did a nice job with the green dot we didn't seem to have catastrophic miscommunications. You really can't marginalize the read, react, communicate and survey process of the field capt. It is a very compressed amount of time that the player has after he gets the call to complete his responsibilities. Not every player has the make up

I can't remember what Staley did to help out Reeder last year. I didn't see him get blown away by routes last year as much as this year although there were quite a few times it seemed he was out of position last year

And also - why the heck did he stop blitzing Reeder after the Washington game.

I think he had 3 sacks that game

Wasn't surprised, this Rams team held back during the regular season and played to their potential when it mattered most.

Sometimes just keeping your hand hidden will play to your advantage when it matters most. We may have lost to the Whiners 6 in a row prior to this game but we matched their intensity in crunch time.
I don't think it was "holding back" so much as it was realizing they needed to MAN UP and make up their mind to play better against the run.

Big bprops to Gaines and ARob because those guys were stout on the line yesterday.

They need to keep that mindset for the SuperBowl. Mixon is in the mold of Akers...they are very similar runners.

Dear Eric Weddle, you are a total stud. I thought when the Rams got you off the couch and back on the team, it was a Jason Sehorn situation. Nope. Mad respect,

Yeah! Folks ride Reeder hard because his pass coverage is bad and he's slow afoot...but putting him in position against the run where he's best is the answer.

He is what he is...question is...can he be better.

Geezus! So this becomes an I hate Reeder thread?

I'm not going to say he's a great player, but obviously he was the best we had that could play.

Give it a break.
Awesome post.

We get the critical thinkers “oh, I worry about Reeder”.

Give it a break is right.
