I also think he's a bit of a diva in that when shit isn't what he wants it to be he shuts down, which is why I don't like him and why I didn't think we'd pursue him.
Yeah, I hear ya. Definitely can see the diva side to DA. And some of that history with Jimmy G is a bit concerning, although I haven't read or seen too much about it.
Regarding any potential attitude problems with DA.... I'm putting my trust in McVay. Not only is our coach a freaking genius with X's and O's, he's great at creating team culture, I think he's gotten better with psychology, too. By his own admission, McVay said he didn't handle Goff's departure well, had some "growing up to do", and has learned to improve his skills in transparency and direct communication. So yeah, I think McVay is gonna lay his cards on the table and tell DA exactly what he expects of him-- not only as a player, but as a teammate. Sounds like DA is super-motivated to win a Lombardi, and I hope that motivates him to step up his game as a teammate as well.
I thought OBJ was gonna be a locker room cancer, but he turned out great. So I'm hoping McVay can push the right buttons with DA, too.
