Completely agree with your statements CGI!
Do you think that Pead has any value as a pass blocker, or receiver out of the backfield?
Yes.
If Pead (or any RB) was being counted on to fill the void that Jackson left, then we're all going to be disappointed. There aren't any on this roster that can do everything he was able to do. That's why we're going to field a few RBs who
collectively can do what he did, and more.
It's a fact that Richardson wore out towards the end of the season, and that's why his production dipped. Jackson is the only guy who can carry the ball around 300 times a season and still be as effective in week 17 as in week 1. BUT. Jackson didn't have that burst to (and around) the edge that Richardson had. Jackson also wasn't as elusive in the open field as Pead. Neither are as effective at pass blocking as Jackson. Some of the bigger backs in camp right now *might* be able to move the pile like Jackson did, but not for an entire season, and none of them would make a team stack the box (yet).
In order for this team to have any kind of a rushing attack, it's going to take a combined effort.
Pead is absolutely a part of that, and he does some things that Fisher/Schottenheimer want to utilize.
In summary, we can't look at any individual RB as "the answer."
