Fox was originally an UDFA who bounce on and off the Rams throughout 2016. In 2017 he finally makes the roster before he has a season ending injury. He's strictly a DE and he's behind Brockers and JFM. I at best he might make the PS as injury insurance but I don't see him on the active roster when the season starts. He's 24 and already 2 years behind.

I don't see Brockers returning in 2020. He's been part of the problem at pass rush and isn't as stout as he needs to be at the POA on run plays. To his credit Brockers is playing out of position. He's not a DE or one technique, he's a 3 technique but the Rams already have the best in the NFL there. He's a first round pick who hasn't played like one. He will be 29 in December. IMO in his limited snaps JFM out played him last year. Kiser, JD and Obo are just potential at this point. We shouldn't be assuming they will perform up to expectations all we can do is hope they will.

I see a whole lot of question marks in that front 7. But they have very good players in Donald, Fowler, Ebukam and Littleton. They also have potential solid talent in Gaines, Sebastian-Day, Franklin-Myers. Personally I'm not sold on Matthews. I think his age is showing and he struggled in coverage and isn't as strong at POA as he used to be. Hopefully this new system will energize him and they can get a solid season from him.

Fowler’s agent didn’t like this article I’ll bet, lol.

Fowler sounds awfully motivated (for now) to give the Rams a home-team discount, guess we’ll see when the time comes.

They all sound like they're gonna give a home team discount, until other teams start talking to his agent and he realises how much money he will lose.

I also don't see Brockers returning, but I disagree with you. He's exactly where he should be. He's not a 3-Tech. He's a 5-Tech. There was something up with him last year. I don't know if he was injured or just played too light. He was quite good in 2017, but he wasn't good last year, until the playoffs. Hopefully, he bounces back. When he's on his game, he's a force against the run.

  1. Fowler seems comfortable betting on himself. Definitely like that.
  2. He seems to have bonded with Donald. That’s a good influence.
  3. It’s hard to imagine the Rams holding on to Fowler and Brockers beyond 2019, likely impossible to keep both. I would prioritize Fowler over Brockers as priority entering 2020, assuming Fowler performs as expected.
  4. These are the choices good teams have to make every year

The Bottom Line here with Dante Fowler & Micheal Brockers ...is the long term salary cap cost factor. In truth, it may be very lt difficult to resign both of them.

The "however factor" is IF one of these two decided to remain a Rams for the next 3 or 4 yrs & take a Ram Org. fair offer to play here in order to enjoy being on a Championship Winning Team then one of these two just might be here for the future.

I am thinking that Dante Fowler Jr. is the much better fit & might be leading to do just that. Brockers is a very good 43 D player who is still in the prime of his playing career. He is sure to get much bigger $$$$ offers than the Rams can come close to matching. It's my belief that DE John Franklin-Myers is a much better fit @ the 5 tech post in so many ways....i,e, much significantly lower cap cost, better pass rusher, younger & fully healthy & fits the 34 D Wade scheme better.
