Last year in January I had to have my beloved Beagle "Flash" put down because he was in daily pain from cancer. It took six weeks for me to react appropriately and break down and sob for an hour. That's him on the couch ignoring my son's dog Joni.

Two good things came out of losing Flash. (1)A new sappy song I wrote and recorded (2) Hank aka Hankzilla aka Hankenstein, a Blue Tick Beagle, Coonhound mix with big, green eyes. I adopted him from a website called "Rescue Me." Drove up to Pittsburgh and brought him home. He turned 3 a few weeks ago.

I have to ask to hear this song now.
You threw it out there PT... you can't leave us hanging now !!!
Its hard for some people to understand how much we love our pets. My little buddy Guapo is dying. He has congestive heart failure, pancreatitis and failing kidneys. He's 15 years old now. I know they don't live as long as we do. But watching him go downhill is tough.
I've been thinking about putting him down but the vet says he's not really in any pain. He's just feeling run down and tired much like we do when we have a flu bug. That is a decision I can put on hold for now. It will be very tough to let him go but if he's suffering I know it'll be the right thing to do.
He was a 9 pound chihuahua that people said looked like a mini pit bull with his muscular body. Now I can see his back bone and rib cage. Looks malnourished. He's down to 7 pounds now. But he still eats and has normal bowel movements. He just sleeps a lot more now. The vet thought he wouldn't last more than a week or two when I took him there on May 7. He's hanging in there. Still wants to sit on my lap. I posted this pic in the My Dog Rocks thread.
Sure is tough losing one of our little guys. I know how much he was your buddy.Last year in January I had to have my beloved Beagle "Flash" put down because he was in daily pain from cancer.
