The idiot that wrote this doesn't recognize that Higbee was hurt at the end of the 2023-24 season and RETURNED to action near the end of last season.

Weird I think this was the first article from Destin that I have disagreements with his opinion. Football fans know it takes a couple of years for TEs to learn the system. Further, many view Higs as the much better blocker as that was an area Ferguson could improve upon.

I could foresee it in 2026-27, but to make that statement in 2025-26 is a bit of a reach.

I think Ferguson will be used a lot in certain packages but it's still Higbee's starting position this year imo. He looked rejuvenated last year when he came back. Had trimmed down and looked quicker than he had ever looked I thought.

Laziness or misspeaking.

"He is coming off. a year where he suffered an injury that cut his season short after just three games. Even before that injury, Higbee recorded his lowest receiving yard total since 2018 in 2023 with 495 yards."

He wasn't injured 'after 3 games'. He was limited to just 3 games, the last 3 of the season after missing the first 14. Also 2023 was the emergence of Puka Nacua (and Tutu Atwell to a point) as well as Higbee being inactive for 2 of the last 5 games. I don't recall why but a shoulder injury seems to come to mind.

For me, I don't read MSN, the writers are unpaid guys with no background in journalism, no credentialing, and no access to teams nor NFL events. Often they're not as knowledgable as the people on here. in the environment we live in today, there's a certain labor to media literacy that sucks... but thankfully it doesn't take much effort to realize that MSN is bullshit.

What I am looking forward to most about this season, however it goes, is that we finally have a TE depth chart.

I think it’s the opposite I think Ferguson barely plays
That’s like saying Nick Foles sucks & I’m going to cut him. Meanwhile he goes on to be The Super Bowl MVP & beats Tom Brady in doing SO!!!

It’s very easy to see WTF is going on with the offense Sean Mcvay wants to run & was just said in this latest Rams report on there site by Stu Jack -

Btw- that’s just lazy posting & the other poster that wants to put TE’s in a box.

Yeah - Higbee has been playing hurt for years. Gerald Everett thought he was The Man.

That’s just the simple version of how to reflect on the past under Mcvay from season 1(2017).

I guess I’m too lazy to look at those rookie numbers, but George Kittle was in that draft class a long with others. My point being this was(is) a solid TE class. IMO one of the best since then.

We can look at other draft classes as well. The other thing is looking at The Rams roster & looking back on the past RAMS teams.

I’m game to keep the topic short & give my view points.

95% of Sportswriters and tv,web analysts are lazy and/or unqualified.
But mainly just lazy.
The average sports writer or analyst cannot know more than us because we focus on mainly one team. Although I do not disagree with your assessment.

I think McVay's history of how little PT Rookie TE's get is the bigger issue.
That said, the bar isnt very high to lead TE's in all the categories, and if Ferguson shows as the real deal in TC/PS, I wouldnt be shocked if the Rams moved Higs by the trade deadline

When the squatters signed TE Tyler Conklin last March, one of these clowns wrote a story saying it was the Los Angeles RAMS that had acquired him.

Yes the key for Fergy is can he execute plays they put in for him in the offense week to week. Be in the right spot, doing the right shit, even if 9 audibles to another play.

There is no chance he'll supplant Higs in 2025. TE is too difficult, they do too much shit. What he's gunning for this year is being strong enough in McVay's mind to pull that third wideout off. At least in certain situations.

Agree Den, but If I were writing an article on a team, I would at least do some research on their past
season as well as their roster and consensus outlook. Would take at most 30-45 minutes of online digging.

I would rather put in the time to try to know about who/what I was writing.
Why? Because my name would be on it But that's just me.

However, at the core , there's so much about their job that I'm totally ignorant to. Have not walked one day in authors shoes
