That's the thing though, what some believe are politically based websites are considered mainstream by others, perhaps you should post a list of what's acceptable and we'll go from there.
I didn’t say based I said biased. You know damned well it’s a politically biased website leaning one way.

Look, i've posted several articles from a number of sources, if you have a problem with the content, just say so. You have chosen to attack the news source rather than the article, so i'm not sure where the problem is. I understand we have little in common politically, and i've done the best I can to keep politics out of this thread, but believe me, if I wanted to go that route, i'd have plenty to say and you wouldn't be at all happy about it. I was waiting for you to initiate some displeasure somewhere down the line here, as usual you don't disappoint.

In California they're not even testing you unless you've came into contact with a diagnosed coronavirus patient or if you have symptoms coupled with health risks such as heart disease, lung disease, and diabetes.

So again, there may be more carriers that received Coronavirus through community transmission that will not be eligible for testing at this time.

That my friend is a travesty. Absolutely inexcusable.

Which also shows, for most people, the relatively low risk. Which highlights the silliness of the panic/over reaction.
I would imagine many people have already had it without knowing.

Not sure that’s the case.
From a personal perspective I don’t really live my life in fear - plus and I eat well, have good hygiene, take the proper supplements, exercise regularly, and have plenty of supplies and food on hand, and to be honest none of that has ever kept me 100% safe from catching that occasional cold or flu.
But because of all those things I mentioned above I tend to recover better and am at a good age where my immune system is still functioning well.
So to me, no amount of powdered milk, survival food buckets, or whatever you stock up with for fear that going to the market will get you infected, is gonna keep you any safer or unsafe when it comes to a highly contagious virus. It’s just a fact. And I don’t want to go all hermit joe.
I tend not to overreact.
If others want to buy all the respiratory masks Home Depot carries then good for them, and good for 3M as Ramhusker pointed out in his 401k thread.
So approaching it with levity and humor instead of fear is personally the route I take and that approach HAS ZERO AFFECT on whether this goes from pure hype to the end of the world.
Yay! Someone else gets it! I'm having chinese and corona for dinner !

Found something interesting. Good read makes perfect sense.

LOL at that website. And that article.

They are both shit.

They are, in my experience, doo doo heads anyway.
It’s daft this over reaction.

I agree the general public is over reacting but closing down events with huge groups of people is a good idea. It will slow the spread.

I would imagine many people have already had it without knowing.

The fatality rate is high enough that anything that can be done to slow the spread is worthwhile though..........don't you think?

This spreads as easily as flu bugs we know of and kills at a way higher rate.

I'm not worried about it if I get it, but I'd worry if my 78 year old step mother got it.

But South Korea is testing 12000 people a day

I'd guess they started preparing A LOT earlier than the US did.

A lot of countries dragged their feet about taking action. It was stupid.

This first became known in late November. We are just recently seeing actions taken here in the US. Italy waited until they had to essentially shut down the whole country.

Not smart.

Not really. Here's another perspective for you: If u or I have cold, flu, or CV do you want to expose yourself to test areas where CV has been present? Or vice versa, what if someone is high risk and you're bringing additional germs into their vicinity?

I'm guessing CA is telling people to be smart and stay at home if they are low risk and with symptoms. No sense in flooding a hospital where more infections like sepsis, TDIFF (so?), etc can occur.

How about this. The richest country in the world. Drive up testing like being done in other parts of the world that doesn’t expose anyone.

And the clamp down should have started in December.

If nations dragged their feet like this with Ebola imagine what could have happened.

When shit like this shows up, put aside differences and word to scrub it out.

Not that I'm faulting your logic. So you have a negative test, but still have the flu. Do you just go back to work and the general public?

And what would they do after they had a positive test on somebody low risk? Put them in the same facility as a bunch of others with more lethal strains? Give them higher priority for treatment (an IV bag and cough syrup?)?

The US is in a mitigation strategy. They've seen the results from overcrowding hospitals in Italy and China and have decided that's not the best strategy.
