Their are 18 Players who have worn #55 But I'm going to stick to the TOP 7, IMO, to give everyone a chance to step up with Players! (and because they're Big Names!)

To Stat with, at #55 WR - Tom Fears (Yes he also wore #80)

Tom Played for us from 1948-1956

Only once did he make the Pro Bowl, and he was Only named an All pro once. But I think that wasbecause he was 'Over-Shadowed' by Crazy-Legs Hearsch!

Why it took ubtil 1970 for him to make the Hof F is beyond me!


Next up, DE/K- Lou Michaels:

" A kicker who converted to DE!" and he was a real good kicker!


Next up, A Favorite, LB - Maxie Baughan:

Maxie played for the Rams for 5 seasons, from 1966-70

Maxie went to 9 Pro Bowls in his career and was an All Pro twice

I don't know why but George Allen Traded him

Carl Played for us from 1976-1988

Only had one Pro Bowl

But ne played in13 Play-Off games!

13 Seasons with some of our Greats

I wanted to include him because he was on our '2001' Team!

He's been with us 6 seasons now

And there's no mistaking what he bring to the Team

A 2nd round draft pick,#35 over-all, great Value

9 Int's so far in his career

593 Tackles and 151 assists

A snappy dresser, from good genes

15.5 sacks so far

always around the Ball

I forgot how many FF's/FR's he has

A Real Team man, and Leader

JL was a nice pick for Devaney. Especially considering Ray Malualuga (sp) fell out of the 1st rnd and was sitting there when we picked him.

* DE - Gary Stills - 2008

He played 14 games for the Rams and had 1 FR and 7 tackles w/ 1 Assist.

* LB - Leon White - 1992-1993

I couldn't find any photos of him in a Rams Uni But here is a College Photo.
He played 27 games in his 2 seasons with the Rams, and had 2 INT's for 49 Yds. / a long of 40. then he went to the Bengals, and then Wrestling .. here are some Fun photos of him .. He called himself "The Big Van Vader!"

Just a little more Scoop on the history of some of these Players:

* WR - Tom Fears - 1948-1956

He was Drafted in the 10th Round in 1945 by the Cleveland Rams, and went 1 Pro Bowl. He went into the Hall of Fame in 1970.
In his 9 seasons he played in 87 games and had 400 Rec. for 5397 Yds. / a 13.5 aver. / and 38 TD's w/ a long of 80 Yds. he did have 5 rushes for 15 Yds.
And he was an Assistant Coach for the Rams from 1960-1961.

* DE/K - Lou Michaels - 1958-1960

He was Drafted by the Rams in the 1st Round in 1958.
In his 3 seasons, 35 games, he went 2 of 3 FG's for 20 Yds. and kicked 13 XP's.

* LB - Maxie Baughan - 1966-1970

" I feel in love with this guy when I came Home from Viet Nam in 1966!"
In his 5 season he went to 4 of his 9 Pro Bowls. He played in 65 games and had 11 INT's for 104 Yds. w/ a long of 31 Yds. He did have 1 Fumble but he had 5 FR's.

* LB Carl Ekern - 1976-1988

He was Drafted by the Rams in the 5th Round, #128, of the 1976 Draft! Talk about a GREAT Late Round pick!
In his 12 Seasons with the Rams he played in 166 games and had 5 INT's for 72 Yds. and 1 TD / with a long of 33 Yds. he also had 5 FR's and 2 sacks. He should have gone to more than 1 Pro Bowl! JMHO

* LB - Mark Fields - 2001

He was with us for 14 games and had 1 INT for 30 Yds./ 6 Passes defended and 48 TKL's w/ 15 assists.

* LB - Robert Thomas - 20002-2004

He played in 42 games in his 3 seasons with the team. he had 7 PD's / 1 FF / 1 FR / and 2 sacks w/ 136 TKL's and 27 Assists.

* MLB - James Laurinaitis - 2009-1015

He was XLNT in my humble opinion!!
In his 7 Seasons and 112 games w/112 starts "Iron Man had ...

10 INT's for 74 Yds. w/ a long of 21 Yds. and 33 Passes defended and 1 FF / 8 FR's for 64 Yds. and 16.5 sacks to go with ... "653 Tackles and 200 Assists!" Oh! and 1 Safety!!

This Leadership and quality of player is not easily replaced!! I wish Tree well!!!
