This is My answer to @SierraRams Question in Yesterdays thread. YES!

Their are only two Players even worth mentioning who have warn this Jersey number! And the second one is Iffy!!

But 1st, one of the Top 5 QB's we've ever had.
At #18 I give you Roman Gabriel: (1962-72)

He Played for us for 11 Years.

He went to the Pro Bowl 4 times, and was an All Pro once.

In 130 games with the Rams he had 119 Starts with a Record of 74-39-6.

Passing he went 1705 of 3313 for 22,223 Yds. and 154 TD's w/ 112 Int's and a long of 93 Yds.

He was only sacked 71 times in his career here.

He had 15 Game winning Drives and 16 come-from behind Wins!

He also rushed 315 times for 1146 Yds. and 28 TD's an aver. of 3.7 w/ a long of 28 Yds.

Oddly he only played in 2 playoff games, and was 0-2 in them.
Passing 33 of 63 for 336 Yds. and 3 TD's w/2 Int's. BUT, Zero sacks!

Their were some REAL Turf War's!

I don't think Roman's Record reflects just how good he was!!

When it comes to our Top 5 QB's of All Times he has to be in their!!

Teams had to keep an Eye on him because he could Run!

" Yes this ^ was being said back then too!"

And let's not forget his acting career!

He had "IT!"


And My last for today, WR Austin Pettis: (2011-14)

In 47 games he had 107 receptions for 1034 Yds. and 9 TD's an aver. of 9.7 w/ a long of 36 Yds.

He never really lived-up to what was expected of him.

So, he was traded to the Chargers.

Sorry so few Players, the rest weren't worth the time!

Kenny just switched this season, so he didn't appear on the list I took from 'Pro-Football-Reference.com'.

It's amusing that people are crying that Ken Stabler not being in the HoF is a crime. Yet Gabriel gets no love, he deserves to be in 10 times before you even consider Stabler.

The Rams were horrible before drafting Gabriel. He lacked playoff appearances only because he played before the era of expanded playoffs. One could argue the Rams were the best overall team in football from 1967-1969... and yet they have nothing to show for it -(Except heartbreaking, season-ending losses)

He was a solid, tough QB, who led a running team that had an exceptional defense. Sound familiar?

Hadl was an OK Fill-in for a bit, and James Harris was pretty good too! But Gabriel was, well, GABRIEL!!
I think Britt well be our version of Holt, and Quick our version of Bruce this year!

OK, It's time to add Him into the mix of #18's:
* WR - Kenny Britt - 2014-Present

I think he's been a great addition to the Team, both on the Field and in the Locker-Room!

He's been in the Top 10 in the League in Yds. Per. Rec. both his 2 Seasons with the Rams.

In his 32 games he's had 156 Targets w/ 84 Rec's for 1429 Yds./ a 17.0 Aver. w/ 6 TD's/ a long of 63 Yds. and he's Rushed 2 time for 14 Yds.

I like it when he's always right there to Congrat's a fellow player when he does well!!

He always seems to be so Charged-Up!!

Our man #18, Cooper Kupp was one of the pleasant surprises of last years rookie class.

Coming from great football lineage, with his grandfather playing in the NFL, and his father briefly playing quarterback in the NFL, it was clear young Cooper Kupp had something special...

"Look Cooper, you keep eating your Wheaties, and playing hard, some day you'll be a star with the Rams. Now run me a skinny post, on 'Omaha'. "

Cooper showed signs from game one that he could get open, and make big plays...

and, along with Robert Woods, Cooper became a favorite target for Jared Goff...

But this is the NFL, and there would be days of heartbreak as well...

...but many more clutch plays...

and clutch touchdowns...

...and perhaps one day soon, Los Angeles may be known as...

Cooper Kupp is my favorite player of this era, still a notch below SJ39 but could surpass him; can't wait to get his jersey once the new unis are announced.
