Who really knows what the Coaching Staff has up their collective sleeve, but...

1) Yeah, Barron could start (haven't seen or heard anything to lead me to believe he will tho)

2) The notion TJ can't play FS is flawed (imo)

3) I strongly feel McCleod could be upgraded (sorry to my esteemed BROS who would beg to differ) but he's adequate at best (in my simple mind)

they used a lot of big nickel packages with him last year. I say he splits time 50/50 with Ayers or someone

I certainly think Barron can start...and I think Tampa was a bad fit for him. In these situations the question is confidence. Young players need that...and when a team drafts you and trades you as if you're not what they need...that's a blow to a young player.

The question is...DOES BARRON THINK HE CAN START???

I don't see any reason why Barron shouldn't see a lot of action, I just don't know about a starter or not!

Off-Topic: I like your avatar. The Rams Head makes me think of a fire engulfing the entire west coast and into Arizona, with the Horn coming down into Missouri! Just the way my mind works!!:D

Probably just me, but I find that many times it's best to not let folks know how your mind works, Dave...Speaking strictly for myself, not a sage, "older gentleman" such as yourself...

I would think that his confidence was trending fastly downward just before the trade. He had been put in a position where he was used most of the time further away from the LOS. Thus showcasing his IN-abilities in pass defense to the NFL world. I would think that Mark knows that he is in the best position this season to get his grove back & play up to his many strong talents. Just don't ask him to cover one on one with the opponents top receiver. You just Waste his many other talents!

The 6-2 215 pound Barron is a perfect SS in Gregg's defense. Barron might have more of an impact if he put on another 10 pounds of power & decided to start & play WSLB post here in 2016.

Barron has shown a extra special ability to put presser, hurries, hits & sacks on the QB when permitted. I am sure that Gregg is very aware of this special commodity he has this season.

Barron was the starter for two seasons in Tampa & only had 2 sacks to show....He comes here & plays part time in 9 games & gets 3. I can't wait to see what Gregg has prepared for him.

I don't now and I never have fully understood anyone's love for McCloud. He does make some good run support plays but that's not enough to make me happy. He makes way to many mental errors in pass coverage, but because he will make a play 3 times a season people forget the bull shit he does. Barron was in a shitty defensive scheme in Tampa, he was only learning last year. Let's see what happens at training camp. If McCloud continues to start for this team as safety, Fisher isn't doing his job.
