How did they wrong him? Kupp is the one who made it public.
If that's the case I must have read misinformation. It sure seemed like the team made the decision. I don't trust all social media anymore. You never know who is legit

I hate this entire thing. I get it, maybe Kupp isn't the same as 3 years ago. But just wish it was handled better. He's been a class act and this "we're looking to trade him immediately or release him" so publically just sucks. He's been everything right with the league and the team. Just wish it went down better for him and his family. Is it just me?

Rant over.
Nope, not just you. It makes me sick to my stomach. It’s like watching someone you love die a painful drawn out death. Not a fan of any of this at all.

Well, I just saw it reported EVERYWHERE else before I saw this out there (which I did).
Meaning, doesn't mean he was the first to leak it..
Either way, it still sucks.
Kupp or his team leaked it. The Rams were miffed that it was leaked. Also, the Rams have no incentive to leak that they are trading a player since that takes away leverage from them.

NFL is a business. Unfortunately you can’t make business decisions based on feelings. It’s all production.

If it was me, I would eat the roster bonus 5mil and then the 2.5mil - at which point we would see a market for Kupp who carries around 12.5mil for the team that trades for him. That would be a bargain. He is certainly a player who would then demand far more attention.

That’s 7.5mil vs, for example, a 5th rounder (that we currently don’t have).

I would take that in a heart beat over 7.5mil against the cap; Kupp possibly being picked up by a rival in the NFC; or worse, him signing in Seattle for close to vet minimum because we are effectively paying his wages!

Eat the cap hit! It’s not like our owner can’t afford it! It saves us eating the lot; saves a potential nightmare in our division; and creates a market whereby Kupp still has a say in where in plays; but the team also benefits

The problem is that even at 12.5 mill, the team who gets him is then saddled with a 20 mill payout in '26

I mentioned it before but it was a helluva fun time watching this guy break tackles, make crazy clutch catches, and other contributions and so quickly it comes around that he's lost some of it and we have to let him go.

I almost feel guilty seeing the excitement over Davante by the Rams overshadowing the lows of how Cooper is feeling. It's a harsh business.

I hate the thought of cutting Kupp. I know he still carries a big price tag but all that he does on and off the field as well as the mentorship he could provide should garner more interest from teams. Jax for one could use him to mentor up their very young WR corp. with that said, it looks like the Rams would get $15m cap relief this year after June 1 (vs $7.5m pre June1). Why wouldn’t they see how the draft works out before making the final decision. They could use that cap space this year to add more as needed throughout the season or pursue a blue chipper at the trade deadline. The only negative I see is the possibility of a “dead man walking” scenario with Kupp. But I’m a novice so let me know what’s wrong with my thinking.

Anyone else sadly refreshing this site looking for the final update on cutting Cooper Kupp?

Genuinely sad day for me - he has always been a team player who gave everything he had. Which, unfortunately, is probably a big part of the injuries that have cost him so much.

Holding out hope that we can get something in a trade, but knowing the likelihood of that is very low.

I'm refreshing it and delusionally hoping we re-sign him for cheap and we somehow have by far the scariest WR room with him at the #3 WR. I'm not a cap guru so I'm sure it wouldn't work but I can dream for just a bit :bigcry:

Just came for the same to get an update. SMH.. hoping we trade him somewhere they have it together and it’ll also save us a few dollars more.

Where's Jim Irsay's drunk ass or Bill O'Brien when you need a lopsided trade? :laugh1:
I mean I still don’t understand why we haven’t call ol Jerry yet?! lol “ Hey Jerry, Les Snead. You know what trade would give you more prestige and clout for you and your 60 million dollar QB? ….” :laugh1:
