Oh I'm very chill amigo@brucebruce and @OldSchool keep it about the topic - not each other.
We're all happy about Kupp being extended. More about THAT.
That’s awesome! It's was on National Best Friends Day, too!!!
Too great!!!
again with the misinformation. i hated when he said AD got a $45m raise when his whole job in the interview was to explain how teams use the signing bonus to beat the cap.
AD got a $30m raise as his previous contract average was $21m per year. still hefty but nowhere near what's being reported.
edit - actually he's right. brain fart on my part. AD is not paying back any of the signing bonus (is he?) so the new contract is in fact a $45m raise. ouch. it also means that instead of being paid an average of $22m per year for his previous contract it actually ends up as $28m per year with the signing bonus money being kept by AD. he was getting paid qb money already and we didn't even know it.
.
View attachment 54499This is from overthecap.com. If accurate, it looks like AD made about $87m over the 4 years of his second contract (prior to this new deal). That came out to almost $22m per year.
$15 million base pay this year before the new deal.well, there you go. they must have tacked on a couple of huge salary years at the end of his extension as he was only due $15m this year.
.
One salary year of about $29.3m in 2025 after AD retires. Basically rams will carry an extra QB-sized cap hit that year and the SB window probably closes for a bit.well, there you go. they must have tacked on a couple of huge salary years at the end of his extension as he was only due $15m this year.

It looks like overthecap.com and spotrac are reporting different contract structures.Huh?

Two years of $5 million signing bonus in 25 and 26 and if he doesn't retire before 2024 that $20 million bonus is prorated over three years. If he does retire he doesn't get it. Not sure where this $29.3 number is coming from. Now even if he retires before 24 we have a $19.5 million cap hit for the rest of the signing bonus and the last year of his previous restructure.
