Pretty cool. They're having the vintage truck show here in Reno and my wife's uncle's truck is the star of the show. It's billed as the biggest show of it's kind in the world.

His is the Peterbuilt on the show banner.

Very cool.
As a former driver (relatively short time) I might go check this out.
Thanks.

Man I feel old...I learned to drive in a truck just like that...:death:

Cabovers were necessary back in the days when trailer lengths were mostly restricted to 45 ft trailers (or less) except for a coupe of states. They looked at trailer and tractor lengths, which Cabovers allowed for greater trailer length than a long nosed conventional tractor. I didn't miss them at all because like that truck above, they are noisy as hell and hot, because your driver's seat is right over the engine. After driving a Cabover for any length of time, a conventional tractor was like diving a Cadillac!

The other problem with a Cabover is that when you do your fluid checks, the whole Cab pops forward to do that, and heaven help your co-driver if you forget he in the sleeper (team driving) lol.
