You heard it here first; Fergusion will make a big catch in this game.
Quite frankly, I think I'd be more disappointed if the team treated the draft that way. That is, banking on rookies.Would be nice, otherwise this draft was a complete fail. Not that Ferguson won't be good down the road, but this is the year. Right? Maybe Stafford's last year and certainly even if coming back next year, he will probably be a little more diminished and even more likley to have injury issues.
So if Ferguson and Hunter are not going to contribute, then why draft them? Schrader could have been the #3 RB, and Allen & Parkinson back up Higbee. Maybe draft a TE later to be #4 TE. Heck, Redmon could be #4 and sit on the bench for the year.
They could of spent those two picks on OL depth & a potential starting CB. Maybe even 2 CBs. Players in those positions might have even made a difference last week.
Point is, maximize resources for this season, as this is the year they have a great shot at a ring. Hopefully Ferguson gets ramped as the season goes along...maybe even Hunter gets used, maybe goal line, short yardage. If they don't, then that will be very disappointing.
Allen has done a great job blocking thus far this season. But yeah we could really use another big target over the middle to lessen the load on Nacua. Especially in the redzone. It’s not like we are stacked at TE, and Ferguson can’t get any touches?
He’s a 2nd rounder.
That would be a good sign to see Ferguson on the field, finally.Agree, but with Higs banged up this week, not sure they will feature him much (not like they did before he was hurt). Maybe a few plays for Ferg? If nothing else, the home crowd would go bananas.
He was hurt all preseason and training camp if I remember correctly. Played a few snaps in the last preseason game that’s all. It’s not like we are stacked at TE, and Ferguson can’t get any touches?
He’s a 2nd rounder.
Understood, and I would normally agree with that. However, I think this is a unique year by adding Adam's and maybe it being Stafford's last year and then the current state of the team, which is that it is ready to contend. So I think this year you had to maximize the impact of the draft class for this year.Quite frankly, I think I'd be more disappointed if the team treated the draft that way. That is, banking on rookies.
