Everyone's upgradable except for the best player at each position in the league (and I guess that's debatable too). So he's def upgradable and since I consider him to be good in this system but not great, I think if the price is right we can find an upgrade next year.

I just don't generally think center needs to be where premium capital is spent but every offseason is a different animal.

As to this moment: I don't see a scenario where we upgrade him ahead of 2026 season and depending on factors that can't be fully known at this time, I would not be opposed to bringing him back on a decent contract for two more seasons. But many things need to play out: draft scouting of centers, player development here, a contract hopefully at one of the guard spots, etc... before I'd make a decision.

At the end of the day - It's just not a position I find worth banging the drum for a top 10 player at but I'll be happy if circumstance brings us one there.
It's that All Pro at every position syndrome. There are currently 8 centers in the NFL who's contract pay them an average of 10 mil or more per year. 8!!!! Out of 32. 25%. Sure let's spend a shitload of coin to replace Shelton, who has done a fine job at a 7 mil average. Cap? We don't need to mind no cap!!!!!

That's a shame, every position that can be upgraded is something that should be considered. Especially at the starter spot.

Also I don't think anybody is saying upgrade him right now that's just not realistic and if that's what you're pushing back on then whatever but the chance for 2026 to upgrade him hasd passed.

Well, again, I don't think I said it shouldn't be considered. In a vacuum it's not where I'm spending my offseason capital BUT circumstances dictate a team build too and if a superior prospect presents itself and other aspects of team build don't, you definitely should consider pursuing a better talent.

Another way of putting it is if I'm building a team from scratch, center is down the line of where I'm spending most of my capital on the total team AND on the offensive line.

In a perfect world, give me Kelce all day.
