The line was pretty good this past season. Better than the past few seasons. If it ain't broke....

So next gen has him at 8th in the league and this has him 17th. Does anyone know where this guy's data is from? NextGen is used by all the NFL teams.

Looks like everyone on the board is gonna go have to go back and watch every snap at center in 2025 now.

Umm... let me know how that goes.
And PFF had him 19th. IMO it doesn't really matter these ratings are tools not a defining metric.

I will say, I think I may have made a mistake with McClendon that I moved away from with Shelton... I concentrated more on play that didn't wow me than what stats were saying and while I generally think that when stats and anecdotes compete, you go with the anecdote... oline play is a little different than elsewhere. A win/block is a success no matter how it looks, even if a guys being pushed back to within a foot of the QB so maybe it's worth being open to not being absolutely wowed by some of these guys if they succeed in the block consistently or at a league high rate.

Rams had #1 yardage offense in the League last year. Rams had #1 scoring offense. Stafford had MVP season. Shelton was the "conductor" of the OL.

Ability to make accurate line calls is of course NOT a stat and is hard to quantify on film. Shelton was doing something right to contribute to all that.

I for one would be shocked if Shelton is replaced or gets beaten out. He will be our starting center again next year.

Dedich played Center in college with six starts.
Since he's a game day active, he should be the backup Center I would think.
Actually kind of ideal size for a Center at 6'2 and 310.

Also, it feels like people are just kinda done with Limmer. There's a chance he could develop the mental part of the game so maybe we don't have to worry about bringing in a center. Let's see what happens!
IDK he looked awful this year and was unplayable.

If you have an argument where you're critical of his play, share it with us and let people see if they agree with your reasoning. And maybe recognize that it's not binary between he's great and he sucks.
Get off your high horse. I acknowledged just recently in one of two other threads, perhaps in both of them, that he does a good job with the calls, and in tandem. He is a liability on his own.

Rams have enough irons in the fire this offseason to where they probably let Shelton play it out in '26. I even acknowledged it is unlikely the Rams make this move.

For the multiple time it's just how I'd do it. You could remake this line a bunch of different ways from where the Rams are right now. And again, that is the conversation. Are the Rams planning something here? Probably not, but this is a great window if they aren't sure of their dudes.
