Harbaugh has his own problems as that team up North just got manhandled from the Whiteout at Beaver Stadium. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how this plays out because I felt as soon as they made this move and promoted Chudzinski, then Luck would come back and they would win some games to keep him, but maybe they won't bring back Luck at all.

Funny how bad many of us (including yours truly) want Chudzinski as OC a few years ago and the Rams did ask for permission, but were denied.

Chud takin over in Indy wouldn't surprise me. Indy will be restacking at QB most likely, so whoever they hire needs to be able to bring a young QB along, i.e. thus will be an offensive hire most likely. Chud isn't the greatest OC, but he's a solid offensive mind and has an in with the power structure there in Indy.

Oh and btw I think the axe falls in NY first this year. Giants are a proud franchise and the roster and staff need a house cleaning.

After his post game presser I think McAdoo put the final nail in his coffin then.

I think the problem in NY is they dont have a legit in house candidate for interim HC. From what I understand, Spags has not endeared himself to the players, coaches or FO.

True but whoever is interim will end up being fired anyway. Giants aren't dumb enough to keep a guy like Spags even if they do make him interim which I agree is unlikely.

They're 1-7 right now. If I'm the GM it's Armageddon this week with whichever guy on staff I think is most talented getting the gig. It's important so that I can start talking to guys like Harbaugh or whoever else I believe is a fit, and the byproduct of maybe losing out isn't so bad either since it might come with a young QB or a windfall of picks if the decision is to trade out.

This could very well be where Josh McDaniels lands. I would be shocked if he Giants hired another guy with no prior Head Coaching experience. They had success with Coughlin, but there is not a Tom Coughlin out there, somebody with success that has been a prior New York Giant Assistant.

Now they could look for a defensive coach, but again, IMO, unless somebody is off the charts, seems Offensive Coaches are more in Vogue as it's easier to hire a experienced DC than an experienced OC, Steelers OC ToddHaley could also be in play.....Again McDaniels has been very selective and I know many on this board are fans of him, but IMO, these are the candidates that will be on most Owner & GM's radar.

  1. Josh McDaniels.....Makes the list every time, for better or worse.
  2. Todd Haley....Former HC with a career record of 19-26 and served under Tomlin
  3. Mike Smith....Another former HC with a career record of 66-46 (IMO a big mistake)
  4. Jim Schwartz....Again a former HC that did get the Lions to post season, but a career record of 29-51 will hurt him although I think he would be far better than Smith.
  5. Frank Reich....Never been a HC, but the success of the Eagles & Wentz should move him up the charts.
  6. Matt Patricia....He's a Rocket Scientist and once he shaves the bead and removes the hat, will be in play.
  7. Brian Kelly (Notre Dame)....If they make it to a college playoff, he'll be a hot commodity and he has interest and there could be a team that will bite.

Yeah McDaniels will be a top name this year and the way the Patriots' defense looks there's a chance they get eliminated earlier than usual in the playoffs and give him a fair shake at the hiring process.

Giants are usually pretty shrewd with their hires overall. I would guess they look hard at the college names too, as there are some guys who warrant it. Harbaugh and Kelly absolutely are guys I'd be calling, but not just them.

Lets not forget the obligatory Jon Gruden name drop...
He WILL coach again, just a matter of when.

I'd call Mad Mike Martz before any of those mentioned.

Equally important would be a competent GM and FO.

DUMB.

The former GM that traded for Trent Richardson is now in Cleveland. See that pattern remains.

But yeah, fire the coach. That'll solve it.

Would be for the best but replacing him won't solve their woes. Best to keep Irsay out of the scouting department and find a reliable GM to find the draft good talent all across.

Dumbest trade in a long time..........and yes replacing the HC doesn't fix a thing.

Shit owner and the GM that built that team is a clown.

Irsay looks like he's running on formaldehyde.GOD Bless him.

Hahahaha that is SO true, he does look like he could be a cadaver on Halloween without doing a thing.

but Chudzinski is well regarded by Irsay

Chud is good, he's very capable but hasn't been in a good situation yet.

Of course put Jim Harbaughs name in the hat because nobody seems to understand he isn’t going anywhere else but always mention him. Might as well name Nick Saban to while your at it.

You watch. This year or next at the latest. He cant recruit over Urban Meyer
He gets some of the top classes in the country! He gets similar grades to OSU, he'll coach them to a win like in a few weeks. you'll see!
