Close Games

The Rams are taking crap because of a bunch of close games. But come on man, we are 11-1 and played the top two teams in the NFL, winning one and losing one on the road. Additionally, we played a bunch of teams that are in the playoff picture so it's not like the Rams were beating only patsies. The return of Aqib Talib helped as the defense only gave up 16 points and one TD which happened with Talib on the bench. Also, if Goff was "on" for thet Lions game, we probably drop a 50 burger on them.

But with a bunch of close games, some of which were close only in score (i.e. We could have beaten the Packers by 9 and some other teams by more, or the Denver game where they score a trash TD at the end to make it close) the Rams have probably become mentally tough and battle tested to be trailing and able to overcome adversity.

Even our one loss to the saints, we were down 21 and came back to tie it even if we eventually lost on their home field.

I think the close games will help us down the stretch. Our players feel like they will come through and win even when it gets tough. I like that and think the Rams will go deep into the playoffs and hopefully win the Lombardi.

Winning is Everything! It's tough "not" to lose in the NFL. How many teams have gone 17-0 or even 18-1...not many. It's a tough sport to play week-in and week-out. Close games are going to happen. They happen to every team, every year.

I like that the Rams have had some adversity and had to so-called squeak out a few wins. It's easy to "destroy" a team and be up by 20+. But, it's not easy when they're close. Rams are better for it having had some close ones. They know what it feels like, and they know they can get her done!

The Cheatriots and Montana/Young Whiners are the 2 teams that come to mind as ones who always seemed to be able to will themselves to win all the 50/50 games...Used to irritate the living dung out of me

It is stupidity, and why I don't watch or listen to any of that stuff. The loss to the Saints, our only loss, shows we aren't the top team, yet the Saints loss to the Cowboys, shows how good they are. It is utter nonsense, to justify a preconceived notion.

Better to have all these close Ram games in the long run, than blowouts. Rams have plenty of experience in battles in close games.......seriously valuable stuff to take into the playoffs.

I like close games. Close games show grit that a blow simply doesn't. In blowouts, our stars get benched late and we coast. In a close game, you give everything you got for 4 (sometimes 5) quarters

If the Rams were 6-6 and won a bunch of close games it might hold up. However at some point, when you're 11-1 and undefeated in one score games it's no longer a blip it's a trend. It's just people looking for another excuse to discount the Rams. Part jealousy (If they turned it aorund so quick why can't we) and part jealousy (hating LA sports). Just let them be. They'll have excuses in february too but we'll be too drunk to care.

Predicting the ruling narrative after the season will be "The Rams can't keep the team together anyway" which is going to be hilarious when we pretty much do, save for suh.
