Biggest mistake the Vikes made was to go inside.

Should have rebuilt Metropolitan Stadium.
When I wore a younger man's clothes I would agree, but now, IMO, if you are in a city that goes below 45 degrees consistently, you need a roof or a retractable one at the minimum.

Open stadiums benefit teams who are in the cold winter climate. When the playoffs arrive the last thing you want is the golf-clapping yuppy fuckheads who sip pink chardonnay and have no idea of when to raise the volume in a game. Unfortunately the owners don't realize this, or don't care because that crowd of fans are the ones who will pay exhorbitant prices for their seats, food, and aforementioned shitty wine.

I agree.
I'm not dropping $200+ a ticket to sit in rain/snow/freezing cold for 3+ hours

Don’t disagree much…but the team lost the advantage that they once had, as many of us knew first hand.

I have said it many times. Mevis miss was caused by the wind. It was going straight thru when all of a sudden the wind gusted and pushed it to the right.

Not Mevis fault on that one.
Fair or not. Any missed FG is always the kickers fault.

On another note, Jake McQuaide, the long-snapper, has to have his props thus far. He's been an enormous upgrade over Ward. Those kicks in that weather had to be perfect, and everyone on teams was perfect for those kicks. So, huge credit to them.

The problem is when you play is snow a lot the best teams does not win the game as much. But, the Super Bowl is not played in bad weather. How many Super Bowls has Minnesota and Buffalo won ?

Yeah that has some truth to it but if you were to cite the reasons why they're title-less I'd say the weather isn't at the top of the list. The Levy teams were something but they always seemed to hit a defense that shut them down and that was that. They had good but not quite good enough defenses. That Super Bowl they missed the FG against the Giants felt like it should have been their title, sort of like us against the Pats the first time.

This is why I dislike Beane so much. He was so smug acting like the Rams mortgaged everything, but what Les and Sean were doing was making sure there were enough pieces around AD. And now he's got all these playoff games where his units have come up short, largely because they are so dependent on the QB carrying the team. They had a great run game this year, and I wouldn't have wanted to face them in the title game of the AFC teams, but the fact is they're out.

A season or so after Norwoods big miss my childhood friends family was on vacation in LA. Decided to go to a Raider game, Buffalo was in town.
Game got down to a key FG at the end. My buddy starts screaming NOOOOORWOOOOOD as loud as he could. The whole crowd got the chant going.
He missed.

I lost $200 on that game. Was certain the Bills would win it. :laugh2:

Lol Toradol is just a liquid NSAID. More effective than just taking a few ibuprofen, but it’s not like he was taking a shot of morphine. I promise you he’s not the first, nor the last NFL player to get some. It’s great for inflammation
Chris Lo*g said he was taki*g *efore every game.....

Taking Toradol? I believe it. It’s fairly benign. I give it all the time at work. It’s a non addictive way to manage pain and reduce swelling. These men put their bodies through hell for 17-21 weeks (or more if you count preseason). If they weren’t getting a little something here and there I would be thoroughly shocked.

No excuse for Durant to leave his man, the disengagement was not significant and there was no reason not to be on top of Kmet so he could have simply knocked the ball away. I don't care of Williams ran all the way back to his goal line, until the whistle blows, do not stray from your assignment.
Durant WAS plastered to his man, then Kmet CLEARLY pushed CD off of him. A LOT. lol

Well, it just so happens that in the 70's the dominant league was the AFC. So Minnesota lost to Miami. Oakland & Pittsburgh which were just better teams. Not clear on if KC was considered the better team or not.

In the 80's 90's, the NFC dominated. So teams like Denver & Buffalo just ran into better teams. I remember an interview with Tom Jackson, formerly of Denver. He had just retired before the Denver vs Washington SB. He had said something to the effect, while watching from the sidelines the during warmups of that game, "My God they are so much bigger!", referring to the Redskins.

Those NFC teams during that stretch of the late 80's & 90's, the Giants, Cowboys, Redskins, & Niners, were just physically dominating teams.
