No excuse for Durant to leave his man, the disengagement was not significant and there was no reason not to be on top of Kmet so he could have simply knocked the ball away. I don't care of Williams ran all the way back to his goal line, until the whistle blows, do not stray from your assignment.
The ball was in the air when the TE pushed him away. Pushed him down enough to buckle his knees. Before that the TE contacted him and walked him away from the corner then pushed off and went to where the ball was at.

He didn't leave his man.

I didn’t see that and I looked at it several times. Kmet’s arms were not extended, what am I missing?

It is post 396 of this thread. It looks to me like the bigger guy has both arms on him as he is watching the ball in the air then gives enough of a shove to get away while durant is looking for the ball. Durant is off balance and the timing of the move makes it impossible to do anything. I guess if he can keep a hold of him he could have stayed with him, but then you probably get a PI.

Durant's head bobbles towards Kmet at the push.

When I first saw the play live I put it on Durant and thought why did he lunge forward like that. I thought it was just a misjudgement of the ball in the air.

After looking at it closer it is clear to me that it was a push-off but it it was so subtle it would never get called in that moment since since it happened so quickly and the Refs had shown they were letting them play. For those who solely blame and pile on Durant, don't. He played a good game and he was a victim of circumstance in that moment. He was pushed and his movement trajectory and body reactions were indicative of someone being pushed away. The reality and magnitude of the circumstance is that it was almost impossible for Refs call OPI in that instance against the Bears unless it was clearly obvious.

Ramw WIN!!!!!!!! so all is well.

I'll admit, I thought Mevis was not a clutch kicker when he missed that FG in Seattle. Making a 42 yarder on overtime in those conditions and that moment was impressive. I think we solved the kicking problems. Now just solve the rest of the special teams problems and we're fine there.

I think it's more conclusive to look at Durant's redirected body than Kmet's arm (which is partially obscured). Lake indicated he saw it immediately.
Both Kmet and Durant were holding each others’ arms. Usually that gets called on the D. I have no problem with a WR swatting an arm away in an effort to catch if he is being contacted. Pushing off with arms extended to gain separation is OPI.

I also believe the pass trajectory and weather caused the ball to sail toward the back of the endzone. Durant tried to position himself to not be out jumped and to box out Cole.

I am fine with no call on the TD pass. The offsides on the Adams catch and near fumble, I take issue with. Throw the damn flag, grandma can see it from the nosebleeds.

I have said it many times. Mevis miss was caused by the wind. It was going straight thru when all of a sudden the wind gusted and pushed it to the right.

Not Mevis fault on that one.

Main problem Durant has (aside from lack of physicality) is he doesn't get his head around at the appropriate moment. He made some great plays tonight by having his head up and being aware of the ball. Then gave up the TD at the worst moment due to not being aware. If in that moment he had position and was tracking that ball in and got shoved like that, they would throw the offensive PI flag. Well maybe that crew wouldn't have thrown the flag, but it would have been warranted. It's hard for me to say he should have gotten the flag when he had no idea where the ball was.

I am sure when the Rams coaches review that play with the DB room they're going to have a lot to teach off of it. Two DBs who didn't note the throw and the dysfunction extends from there. These DBs need to keep working on getting their heads around. It's been a problem all season.
