David Johnson - RB -
Cardinals
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports David Johnson will have surgery on his wrist this week and be out 2-3 months.
Johnson and the Cardinals seemed to be looking for a doctor who would advise rehab instead of surgery, but in the end they will opt for the operation. Out at least two months, the Cardinals are sending Johnson to injured reserve, making his earliest return Week 10 against the Seahawks. It is also possible we do not see him again this season. Teams with IR slots should certainly stash Johnson for a potential playoff run, but teams with short benches have a tough decision on their hands. Kerwynn Williams and Andre Ellington should form something of a committee with Johnson sidelined, although Arizona also should look to bring in outside help.
