I was saying he reminded me a lot of Harrison Smith of the Vikings after the Rams drafted him. He's as good or better now.

Rapp ?? Well H. Smith is showing wear &Tear. John Johnson has been missed. The Rams young depth is showing up which is due to good coaching & scouting.
People that say The Rams solid out to go to the Super Bowl don’t see The Rams franchise progression. Stan is building it the right way.

Is anyone aware that Taylor Rapp is #1 in the NFL on Defense in fewest missed tackles way under 2% that is crazy for a rookie.

Unbelievable pickup
Which is why I would keep him in that flex position. I want him around the ball.

I have been the most critical ROD member here on the rookie season performance of our top draft selection LB/Safety Taylor Rapp.

Against the Cards, TR had his best game of the season. TR was the most impactful DB on the field in Az. I still can not forget about Rapp's Ravens game performance that was simply bad & one of his worse.

Most of my unfavorable comments on TR this season, are listed below:

* Total lack of any hit or pop in his tackles.
* Most all tacks made with the ball going forward for additional yards.
* Hands that are hard as Plutonic rock.
* Obvious "learning on the fly" coverage skills.
* Hesitant in making quick responses on receivers routes.

Most of the above are very typical of a rookie DB.

I should note that in the Cards game Wade gave TR a full time role in his defense. Wade for most of the season had been playing safety Marqui Christian/ JJ III with Weddle in the safety posts on first downs & probable run downs.

Cards gm. TR was on the field for all defensive snaps (1st, 2nd & 3rd quarters) playing either of one of the safety positions with Safety Eric Weddle or the weak side ILB'er post with Cory Littleton @ MLB'er. TR did come off the field when safety Jake Gervase replaced him @ SS in the 4th quarter.

This Wade change up took defensive snaps away from Marqui Christian. Gave many more snaps to ILB'er Travin Howard. This proved to be a great decision at this time of the season. Wade increased the utilization of LB'ers Troy Reader/ Travin Howard. Plus increased greatly the snaps of TR in the deep secondary.

I think that Wade will continue to increase the defensive snaps of 1st season ILB'er Travin Howard in the WSILB'er post as TR's is assigned increased secondary starting safety snaps on early downs instead of being on the sideline.

When deep safety JJ III is healthy Wade should be able to field one of the best young starting safety duo's in the NFL.(y):giggle:

Good point. Something must have clicked for him against the Cards (i.e., more playing time) because he looked incredible against Seattle.

I was at the Cardinals game last week. I was able to watch him more since I could see the whole field vs. TV.

The dude is kicking ass. Almost had two picks in the game, right?

He's the opposite of Peters. He looks for the hit, like a heat-seeking missle.

Rapp is going to have a hell of a career as a Ram!

Was there too. He should have that first one!

when we drafted him I heard he ran a 4.7 40 and so I didn't like the pick. then when we drafted long I read the draft report on him and just loved it whitch even made me more down on rapp. then I read he ran a 4.5 at his pro day so that helped a little but still was kind of down on the pick. after watching his play this year am loving this pick. even thought I love his pick I don't want to marry him. well maybe if he is willing.

I'm gitty on TR and think we've found a keeper....and he is only a rookie (Orlando really struggled as a rookie)

He has good instincts and he's starting to play really fast now. His versatility to play down near the box in run coverage gives Wade a ton of options. He's gonna be hard to keep off the field from now on.
