Can the Undefeated Rams Really Make a Run at 16-0?

For all intent and purposes, if the Rams win this game, we are practically going to cruise into the #1 seed in the NFC.

9-0 if we win, the Saints would be 6-2 and we would own the tie breaker. The Iggles and Viqueens and Packers are out of the running for the #1 seed. That would only leave Carolina as a possible contender but they have 2 losses now and they have 2 games against the Saints remaining.

I can't realistically see the Rams losing more than 2-3 games. The team most likely to beat the Rams are either the Rams themselves or the zebras.

Donald isn’t likely to have same the impact against the Saints offensive line that he does against other units. With guard Andrus Peat back in the fold, New Orleans has one of the most complete pass-blocking lines in football.

Each game is different last game our cbs and safeties made some awesome interceptions this game they didn’t but I’m pretty sure they’re going to be ready to play against the saints honestly I don’t think this game will be close at all

This is the same model that we used to offer our season win total picks, and there will be times in this write up where we offer some advice in terms of Super Bowl or division odds that have value. We will also discuss situations where a team has a higher playoff probability than a team that has more projected wins, which can be confusing but happens more than one thinks.

I call BS on the Saints pass blocking. That rinky dink and dunk passing offense has more to do with that than anything. Just think about this - Brees is averaging 8.19 YPA on 77.4% completion. Goff is 9.59 at 67.6%.

I personally don't want to go 16-0. I think we need to lose a game or two to become a better more complete team. I know McVay's "one game at a time" speech has worked until this point but there will come a point in the season where guys lower their guard because of their success. Happens in every profession,

Me either, so in full agreement with you. Think it was Holt who just recently was quoted on how losing a game can sharpen a team up, how when you are on a long win streak things can get sloppy. So eating that loss to sharpen you up in the regular season is far better than dropping one in the playoffs when you go home.

Not that I want them to lose. I never do. But dropping a game while still getting that home field advantage can be a good thing for a team. So looking at this particular game vs New Orleans, this is not the game you want to lose because they're our primary competition for the one seed.

Either way, though, this is not a dominant enough team to win out. There are some glaring weaknesses defensively that will prevent that from happening. And in the end what matters anyway is how this team looks going in to our first playoff game, do they have Talib back and otherwise have their health? Is their edge rush at least somewhat functional? Etc. If those things are yes, then I like our chances to win two games at home to get in the big dance.

I totally hope they go 16-0. And if they do I don't think it has any effect as far as extra pressure once in the playoffs. I know that back in ancient times when I played a little ball. I never thought about season records once playoffs began.

I dunno about any other teams, but THIS Rams team is as mindful and grounded as any sports team I've HEARD of, let alone been around.

I don't think a loss changes anything for this team. They take NO ONE for granted and for sure aren't getting high on their own scent.
