It's going to take a 1990's like 49ers run or a Brady like Patriots run for the media to finally regard the Rams as a franchise to be taken seriously. As Granny Hawkins would say "Short runs don't mean diddly squat."

ESPN is irrelevant. Used to be the gold standard in sports. Now that they feel they are liberal sports network ruined the network. Sad loss.

Agreed. And hopefully this time--unlike the GSoT years--we have the front office to sustain the success and keep our coaches happy and in place. It ain't easy, although having a staff that is difficult to poach is very helpful.

The media is infatuated with the old guard. The first Superbowl teams carry a certain romance for reporters. The Rams were always second fiddle. It's been proven that it takes a consistent run of dominance to win over the media. Even the GSOT team couldn't sustain it. The short successful run quickly turned to criticising Martz for passing to much and five years later, "the Rams are who we thought they were."

The media will always pine for the teams of yesteryear though. It's that first love that gets them. The Packers, Chiefs, Bears, and Jets are teams the media desperately want to be good. Their excitement over them when they are, is nauseating.

Fox is really pushing the Bears and Seahawks for the playoffs. Bottom line is each one of these networks has their favorite team(s) which they will promote. No different than networks pushing their political affiliations/agendas. I watch the NFLN for anything related to the league. It's hard to watch Fox, CBS NBC, and the "four-letter network" pre-game shows because I feel they are very biased to specific teams/players. I like watching the NFLN Pregame, Post-game and their other weekly shows to gain insight about all the teams and not necessarily just a few. I will say, however, the NFLN does jump on the bandwagon too, but at least they do a good job of discussing the Rams. My

Heck, when the local radio stations can't pull themselves away from Labron to cover the Rams, how can I expect national media outlets to?

Well it is annoying that we are overlooked but I am becoming ok with playing the underdog role. I think we can do well with who we will play against. Sheattle, Bears, or Dallas in LA? We got this. We would then either play at home vs Eagles or in NO versus the Saints when we get the the next level. That will be the test in my opinion. If we win that NFC title game, we belong in “the show”. No doubt.

I think the Rams have shown they belong at the table. But we can't demand respect, we have to earn it.

If we win a playoff game, then we'll get some respect. There are no consolation prizes for getting here and losing

Until then, we're in the dreaded Peyton Manning playoff category; the Marty Schottenheimer Chargers post season territory; etc.

ESPN goes from "Gold Standard" to "National Enquirer" in a few short years. Pathetic.

Fox is not far behind. It's to the point that listening to the talking heads is completely worthless. Reggie Bush's video is a good example. He goes on and on how the 49er's were going to demolish the Rams. He wasn't alone in picking the Whiners. Not many of them do their homework.
