Report: Jacoby Brissett tore a thumb ligament, may need surgery

The Patriots had wide receiver Julian Edelman as their backup quarterback last night. He might have to start next week.

According to Mike Petraglia of WEEI.com, Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett suffered a torn thumb ligament in the second half of last night’s win over the Texans, and may need surgery to stabilize the injury.

That’s a huge blow for the Patriots, one game before Tom Brady’s return from suspension. Jimmy Garoppolo was inactive last night because of his shoulder injury.

The Patriots brought T.J. Yates and Sean Renfree in last week to look at potential depth signings, and they may need to add one to get them through their final Brady-less game.

If them winning with Brissett made your blood boil because of Goff, just wait until they win with Edelman at QB.

Reminds me of the time the Rams couldn't even beat the Druckenmiller-led 49ers back in 1997.
That doofus had one start. ONE start in his whole career, and he used it to beat the Rams while throwing 3 picks.

This is to the point that they're looking at a guy I've never heard of..Yates I know, Sean Renfrew could be the clerk at the 7- 11 where I stop to get a doughnut in the morning..Seriously...I don't know if I should be embarrassed or what...I could look him up, but it's not that important to me...Whoever It is, I have no doubt that the Cheatriots can win with him under center...One of the things that disturbs me most about their cheating is that they don't have too...Hate them as much as I do, but admit that they're a hell of a good football team with the head cheat in charge...

I loved Garopalo when he can out in the draft, didn't know anything about Brisset but Belicheck is a friggin genius. I think if Brisset gets hurt next week Bellicheck should be the qb

If Belichick plays QB, myself and a whole lot of Rams fans, would sign up to play DE on any opposing team.

I would actually enjoy watching the game with Edelman at QB so I hope that's what they do. I can't be the only one curious to watch that?

"Do the Patriots want to trade us something for Keenum? A late 3rd rounder next draft? That way they have a good #2 once Brady returns."

The cheaters would win the Super Bowl with him and then Billicheat would trade him for a first rounder.
It's happened before!
