His ass looks like the other #21 that played in that same uniform last year....On this TD Pass completed by the 49ers... 3rd & Goal from the 8 Yard Line?
#21 Sensabaugh has outside coverage on his WR and covers him until about the 3 yard line. After 3 yards he just lets him go/drift as if there is safety zone help etc.
The issue for me is this is 3rd & Goal from the 8 and he doesn't even jam or funnel the WR in any capacity and looks lost just shuffling his feet 3 yards deep in the endzone.
He looks bewildered and just watches the TE make the TD catch as if he was safe guarding a ghost RB sneaking out of the backfield into his zone?
Anyway.... Sensabaugh stops covering the WR at about the 3 yard-line (no RB or other 49er player anywhere near his zone) and yet he's just shuffling his feet backwards 3 yards deep in the endzone?
No reaction/assignment or instincts to help with any kind of coverage? He just watches the closest player/ TE catch the TD pass with not other 49er player anywhere near his zone? This is quite baffling after watching it several times....
looking at the coaches film, it looks like barron is the one that really messed up by not getting wide enough
“The worst part was giving 28 points, and it doesn’t matter how the offense did if you are going to give up points,” linebacker Alec Ogletree said. “We had some missed reads in the red zone, some missed tackles. Things happened really fast.”
And even if he ends up being a one-year flop for us, he's a really, really good person. I think people really need to read up on how much this guy gives back to the world. Doesn't help on the field, I know, but this guy really has his priorities in the right order.
Yeah, well, I don't really prioritize my respect and admiration for other people based on how they play a sport.I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but I really don't care if he's a nice guy, as he's not getting paid millions to be a nice guy. He's paid to perform on the field.
The fact the he's wearing 21 makes it worse. It reminds me of JJ, and JJ is good but no Revis, but he is a lot better than this guy. It just rubs it in that this is our best attempt at replacing him.
Sitting on the bench.
Hate that it took that long for Hill to seize the job but better late than never. And I like Hill, but man I gotta say that I PRAY we have Gaines back for Tampa's offense.
Jenkins is looking alot better than Revis this year. He has a touchdown and locking up Cooks and Bryant so far.
Be careful what tou wish for guy hasnt played in damn near 2 yrs.
Playing Hill today was the right decision. Sensabaugh continued to get abused and couldn't get pulled soon enough. Teams will pick on Sensabaugh and he will sink our defence all by himself.
I will say that Hill should have been above Sensabaugh on the depth chart to begin with, IMO. Hill had a very good pre-season. He far out played Sensabaugh. If not for Coty being a free agent signing that cost us some decent coin, he likely would have been sitting from day 1.
I like Hill. If Gaines continues to miss time, there will be growing pains as he get used to being an NFL regular. But he has some decent tools to work with. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a solid starter for us, similar to how McLeod steadily improved over the years.
Gaines looked really good his last outing. It's possible but unlikely, I think, that he needs time to return to better-than-the-others level of play.
