Lol I don't know what you're reading, but there is no way this kid is a day 3 pick. Zero chance. He wont make it to round 3. His athleticism and strength is on par with elite OTs which is rare on the inside. His vertical would've been 2nd of all OL in the 2020 draft. Again, Daniel Jeremiah said multiple teams have him as the #1 center on their board. Most #1 centers are drafted late 1st round, early 2nd. Like I said I sincerely doubt he'll be available 25 picks into round 2. But if we are planning to go center there should be a few options for us.

I didn't say he wouldn't go early it is a fact that he is projected all over the place due to where he played. His Senior Bowl helped him immensely.

Sorry dont see the comparison at all. This guy is a physical specimen on the inside. No chance he goes on day 3 like Demby. The guy showed up to the senior bowl and was dominating 1st round prospects in 1 on 1s. He is a bit raw, but he wont be blown off the ball I can tell you that. We need more physicality up front and so do a lot of teams.

Both players had showed potential and have high ceilings

Both players were reported to be given first round grades by draft reporters.

Those are the similarities I’m pointing out. Demby was an example of what could happen and why not to listen to reporters claiming to know who is on any teams draft board or what grade they are giving them.

I didn’t get into any skill level or ability stuff. I never even watched anything on Demby.

I do agree the Rams line could use more physicality at Center

No Senior Bowl and he’s likely a UDFA. His rawness and poor technique is very likely to take him out of the top rounds. So I agree with you.

I’m locked into Creed Humphries which means Rams won’t get him. Rams probably want to wait until later in the draft on OL but I feel they will draft 2.

A camp battle between Meinerz & Donald alone would be worth the price of admission.

you just ruined my day lol. Major buzzkill.

I’m no expert of course. Just a fan like the rest of us. Its difficult enough for GMs to get it right.

I just think 6’5” is a bit tall for an NFL center.

Humphrey is almost the same height at 6’45/8”

I guess it doesn’t matter if they don’t let DTs get under there pads. But I think of Centers being in the 6’ 2” to 6’ 3” range usually.

This here vid actually looks good. Straight up bulldozed the kid in front of him. Built like Incognito with the mean streak to boot.
Gosh, I dunno anymore. Mebbe he'd work out, if #9 can call the protections & this kid can just bulldoze everything in front of him. Goal line TD's would be EASY 6 pts.
Yeah, after watching this vid I'm completely sold. Many scouts think he can be a great player.

PLUS we'd get the whole "legend of Rocky working out in the winter forest" thing.

Mangold and Frederick were 6'4". I don't see height - short or tall - as a big deal.

Alabama's Lance Dickerson is 6'6", and he may end up going first in the draft, although they say he has great 'bend', which makes up for the extra height.

Coleman Shelton is 6-5 and he may end up our only option besides a draftpick....and he is only 300 lbs... Kind of light for a 6-5 guy.

Frederick was freakishly strong. I don’t know if Mangoldwas but not many ppl could push Frederick around no matter where he played

Mangold was listed at 307 lbs. Myers, Meinerz, Dickerson, and Humphrey are heavier, and I'm personally a huge fan of Myers at center; I'd gladly take him at our second. Start him off at guard with an eventual move to center.

Memento I’ve read some of your posts and you sound mean and tough enough to start for the Rams at the center position even if you are a female.:fistbump:

I sure hope he isn’t working out like that anymore!

I think the Rams are floored by him. But I also think they're not the only team. He'll be gone before 57 IMO.

And that's ok. This is the time of year where all these players you covet seem like they won't make it to us. But for every guy who goes earlier than expected some other guy will go lower than expected. As much as I like Meinerz and want a center if they end up taking an OT instead at 57 then draft a center round 3 I'm good.

Just hit on the picks. That's all I care about. I admit I'll be pissed if they don't draft a center but if that happens they know more about the guys on the roster than we do. Especially the way last year was with zero preseason and no fans at camp.

Agree he's got some serious retard strength. Whether it's his workout or roids or his genes I have no idea but he has rare power in his frame. And there aren't a lot of dominant centers in this league btw. Those guys are pretty hard to find the Rams may just need to keep drafting the position until they hit.

Also it's entirely possible Meinerz starts his career at OG. Judging from his interviews he doesn't strike me as a cerebral type lol. He strikes me as more of the guy who does keg stands at parties, a Frank the Tank type.
