I could have sworn the cans say 6.0 - must have been thinking of Bud Light Platinum. 110 calories is what makes regular Bud Light light. I know the latter, btw, because I was texting with a friend who drinks it heavily the other night, and she is dieting and had a second roll with dinner, so I looked it up to put it into context. It looks like the Platinum version - which tastes better anyway - is the better option for saving calories while getting drunk, if that is your goal. 137 calories, but 6.0%. Clearly better on the alcohol to calorie ratio, and better taste to boot.

In any case, I found this handy list

http://getdrunknotfat.com/alcohol-content-of-beer/

Love the url of the site, btw.

A couple of things. First off, yes there is better beer available, even better light beers (though far fewer of those). However, I've had many worse beers too.

Secondly, if you are looking to get drunk cheaply with as few of calories as possible, that's why vodka was invented.
True on the vodka, but look at college-aged kids - most will go after Bud Light or Miller Lite or Coors Light or whatever as their get-me-fucked-up-cheap go-to option. There's much less "bro" culture around hard liquor versus beer.

@kurtfaulk, the choice is Bud Light because it's fairly cheap and it's crushable. You can tear through eight or nine of them and feel like you're drinking water. It's like Bud Light is a sweet cocktail - lower on alcohol than a Scotch on the rocks, but easier to drink, and easier to drink a great many of them.

I gave up on American Pilsner beers, unless they are of the craft variety. I don't drink like I used to, which was pretty heavily. But, If I want a beer, I grab a Belgian White. Never got into all the Pale Ales either. Allagash is my brand of choice now.
