I like them, thought they were fair to both teams. It definitely could be a lot worse

Aikman is okay, but Jack's boy has been skating by on his dad's rep for years. How he keeps getting these prime gigs is beyond me.

And yes @Selassie I , the plugs are atrocious! But his hair colorings and makeup choices would impress a mid-70's Mick Jagger

I disagree

He’s an accomplished broadcaster in his own right

Well whether Joe and Troy are bad or good comes down to personal preference. I have definitely seen worse. Overall it was a pretty good night. I can say I was entertained at least! Here’s hoping we continue to get prime time coverage. I’m getting used to this!!

I just loved seeing the old Blue and Yellow in a night game on grass in the Coliseum for the 1st time since I was a kid. Like a 1970's Monday Night Football game.

As a die hard fan of the Saint Louis Rams, as a guy who hasnt been able to attend camp and games since they moved away... I love your comment and knowing how that must be for so many fans who have stuck with them all along... it kinda makes the loss much less bitter.

Your comment is awesome and its knowing how that must feel to everyone is why I am okay and just happy being a Rams fan.

Thanks for the response.

I will also add that I will miss seeing them play in the LA Coliseum.

I assume the new stadium's field will look like the Viking's stadium/field... fake grass, similar atmosphere. Not thrilled even though it will be a state of the art stadium.

I love watching them play on the real stuff in the LA sunshine.... Old School style.

Ryan Fitzpatrick has better career stats than Aikman ...Boom! Enough said

I know he has 3 rings , he might of been a "system qb"

.

ok, after watching the first half again i may have overreacted a little to aikman saying mcvay is talking to goff. i was still cut about the way that network used the rams-eagles game last year to emphasise the ridiculous "mcvay is telling goff what to do" story-line which was pushed by idiots last season. it was unbelievable.

I disagree on one item, when you are clearly in front of the play, and know you are getting blocked, and turn your back...it is not a block in the back, IMO. I've heard a lot of refs on that call, and some that missed it.

It is like flopping in basketball, and there is no room for that bullshit in a football game that is already getting a little soft. Great pick up, of the flag.

I do have to mention the several no offensive called holds, but at least they called some defensive holds, and that shows they have come a long way...still a way to go, but at least, we are getting some calls now.

but regardless, how can it be a block in the back if the blocker is standing in between the defender and gurley? where else could he block him?

Well, you have to let him go, and try to position yourself between the tackler, and the ball carrier. If he turns his back right before the block, it becomes a judgement call.

Sorry and with all due respect, everything Jack's boy has 'accomplished' was handed to him. I can name 10 better baseball play by play broadcasters who'll never get a sniff at a World Series game because Joe gets them all. My comment was that I don't understand why he gets ALL the good gigs. He's mediocre at best IMO. There are several better - especially for baseball.

That said - he did okay Thursday Night. Nobody could have ruined that game!

If you get a chance, dig up an old NFL broadcast with Jack Buck and Hank Stram - Best team ever!

Some of remember Harry Caray and Jack Buck broadcasting STL Cardinals baseball in the 50’s and 60’s. That was quite a team, with Buck as the straight man.

Hey, we just disagree.

Jack Buck was a great broadcaster and I listened to him many times.

Are you really comparing Fitz and Aikman? Seriously?

I’m speechless.

NO ONE was better as a baseball announcer than Vin Scully. No one ever. He painted pictures with words and made it poetic. He did LA Ram games for a bit as well as some high profile fights.

I liked the broadcast fine. They were fair and seemed genuinely entertained.

For play by play i'll take Al Michaels all day though. Does his homework on everyone and has great delivery IMO.

I'm with you Brotha! Sorry we didn't get to meet up before the game. I have to say, that was one of, if not, the best games I've ever attended. And I've been to quite a few.
Hands down best game I've ever attended!

Have to disagree, Mack. I'll have the homer vote for Jack Buck. He was an amazing broadcaster and also had a way with words that gave you chills.
