Buccaneers announce Dirk Koetter is their new offensive coordinator

The Buccaneers have their new offensive coordinator.

Dirk Koetter, who spent the last three seasons as the offensive coordinator of the division rival Falcons, is now the offensive coordinator in Tampa Bay.

Last year Bucs head coach Lovie Smith hired Jeff Tedford as his offensive coordinator, but the team was forced to scramble after Tedford left the job because of health problems. Now Smith has a new coordinator in place.

Prior to serving as offensive coordinator of the Falcons, Koetter was offensive coordinator of the Jaguars. He has also been head coach at Boise State and Arizona State, and offensive coordinator at Oregon, Boston College, Missouri, UTEP and San Francisco State.
 
This was in motion so even if the Rams were interested it was too late. Good hire for Smith and Koetter will have a new toy in Mariota.
 
Solid hire by Tampa Bay.
 
Intresting.
Thought they would go with Testerman (sp) if Mariota was a sure thing. Makes me think they are leaning toward Winston with that choice.
