I got upset with people that said McVay was making fun of Belicheat for making that selection in the first round.

They were just laughing at themselves for even thinking that maybe Strange would drop to them.
Yeah, that's the correct interpretation.

That laugh, and they're comments, were clearly about them thinking they were sitting on some kind of secret when it came to Strange.

The dude looked pretty solid in the run game last night. But but I will say this for facts: Rams old faithful Morgan Fox gave him all he could handle and then some. Seemed like the worst matchup Bruss could end up with in a guy like Fox who has longer arms, strong upper body, tall, and finesse. Although Bruss got beat a few times in pass pro, and didn’t switch when they did a stunt, I like what he showed and that he played a ton. I can easily see what that Rams see in this guy. Thoughts on game one?
I thought he was solid.
Got walked back a time or two.
Did some solid work in the run game.
The OL that surprised me were Kolone and Brewer at LG, who I think both played well.

I'm happy to read people who pay closer attention to the line have good things to say. I could see him getting out in second level on some plays.. but I couldn't tell how well he handled his initial touch on those plays.

Fingers crossed that it clicks quickly for him.

Agree - The 3 rookies impressed me though. They held up in one on one’s

It was that cool drill like the Senior Bowl where a player lines up at there position in front of whoever is next in line across the ball.

I’d yell at each player basically calling out who won. Arcuri was very impressive. Whitley beat him though to close it out. Might have been on the horn to switch as well?
Funny Whitley was LOLB & Arcuri was RT on that play. #51 lined up a little wider than normal & gave a inside move of the ball & faked him out really bad where he caught him leaning in & went right around him outside because AJ couldn’t step back. All weight going forward.

My take on that one after a preseason game in the books. AJ Arcuri might be an excellent RG & Whitley might need to be moved to the Lolb(Floyd)
Hardy & Chris Garrett might be better on Hollins ? Watching a little yesterday only hold so much value as a day at training camp.

The players are working hard to get better. The 3 young O’Lineman are an improvement. Max P. Is basically just taking up free rent space.
I like Trammell as well.
If he ends up on the practice squad a team will sign him off of it pretty quickly I think.
Dude will be open a lot.

I honestly have never really seen Trammel except fielding punts I believe. Maybe for a catch against the Chargers. JJ Koski is ahead of him for sure.

He caught 3 passes against the Chargers out of 4 targets.

He was the only WR open against the Chargers. Even McCutcheon was covered. But McCutcheon took the ball away from the defenders.

It was awesome.

It was awesome and an element that has been missing from the Rams O for quite some time.
Trammell was open all night.
In those short option routes he was not to be covered. Now, before getting too excited, same with McCutchin and Perkins, this was against mostly scrubs with a D game plan (including coverage mixes and blitzes) not really in place.
I don't know if Trammells' Wes Welker routine would work so well against an NFL starting defense, but, he was open more than anyone in week 1.

Yeah it's not a big deal that the rook will need a little time. He's gonna be the piece at RG though. They need that power in the run game.

Re: the stunts that is typical of new OL combinations. Check the first 9er game vs the second 9er game last year and watch Corbs and Hav work. The first game was abysmal. The second they locked that shit down. So if we want Bruss to arrive for the playoffs he will need to win that job by the first third or so of the season, which will allow for him to adjust and be on the same page with Hav for when the heat gets turned up. Otherwise it's probably a next year deal.

Is Bobby Evans the luckiest Ram OL'er ever?

It sucks how he went out too. He was beat by a pass rush, hanging out for dear life, and someone runs through his leg while he is airborne.

Dam that’s harsh.

Guess Anchrum is next man up for backup. Solid preseason game 1 but he really struggled last night it seemed.

Snead should get on the horn for a veteran.
