Yeah I feel you I just think Jackson making the defense worry about him is going to open up those throws to Landry and Gordon. Do you think Allen and Barkley is more dangerous than Jackson and Barkley
I like Jackson don't get me wrong but I am not a believer in those type of running QB's. They get hurt to often. I want a QB that last 8-15 years and IMO that would be one of the other QB's. I go by percentages of success in my mind that is taking Allen for the longevity while nurturing him to give him every tool or whatever he needs for his development. With that said I'm ready to watch Jackson tear it up! lol
This process is hair splitting TBH but with that in mind I take Allen/Barkley.
I read somewhere that Matthew Stafford was the only QB with a sub 60% completion ratio to live up to his draft status.
The one thing in Allen's favor is that when they looked at the actual ball placement, it was good. He was plagued with poor receiving and lots and lots of drops.
I think his adjusted rating was actually pretty good (the one that takes into account drops, not QBR)
This may not be far off. They could easily trade with the Browns again. Remember, the Bills have the 21st and 22nd pick in the first round. Trade those to the Browns for the 4th and all of a sudden they don't look so dumb. They will trade up, IMHO.
It would take more than that, but I get what you are saying. This may not be far off. They could easily trade with the Browns again. Remember, the Bills have the 21st and 22nd pick in the first round. Trade those to the Browns for the 4th and all of a sudden they don't look so dumb.
Kizer got a year of NFL experience last year. Even though he wasn't impressive, I wonder what his ceiling will be after he sits behind Rogers for a while.
I thought he looked ok for being really green....has some ability for sure.
He’s not Hackenberg bro and that’s why you give this dude to sit and learn from the best staff you put around him. Never liked Hackenberg and don’t really like their comparisons.Running QBs always get injured in time. Scrambles who always look to throw first don't, necessarily. Which category is Jackson in? I have not watched him at all because I figured he just ran a lot. Like Vick. That is boring football for me, especially in college.
There never has been a successful NFL QB that has had as low of a completion percentage as Josh Allen. Allen makes some beautiful throws, but he misses too many easy throws. He has a strong arm. Who does that sound like? Christian Hackenberg. Low completion percentage, Some of they sweetest deep throws you'll ever see, struggles on wide receiver screens, short crossing routes etc,... There is a definite gamble in picking Allen. Will he be able to correct his mistakes in the NFL? Hackenberg hasn't.
Compares better to Kyle Boller as is.He’s not Hackenberg bro and that’s why you give this dude to sit and learn from the best staff you put around him. Never liked Hackenberg and don’t really like their comparisons.
I'm more concerned with his desire to be committed to be great. I guess the interviews etc. will determine the more than likely. He definitely has the tools arm strength and decent foot work. This is why if he has the desire to be great he needs to sit and work on his progression/read abilities to diagnose what's going on instead of just relying on his raw talent. He had some magnificent plays but also some egregious ones as well. I'm thinking the Browns are thinking along my train of thought by actions. Take the most dynamic playmaker in Barkley in the same state and then take someone you can coach up for a year or two to be your future. Tyrod has enough in him to handle that bridge at the least, maybe even make it hard for him to get on the field.Compares better to Kyle Boller as is.
Question is can he bottle some magic and become a Brett Favre type player or will he just plateau and be more like Boller? Personally I've never liked QBs who struggle with reading the game, and Allen at least in college has been one of those guys. Favre was as well, even in the pros, but the man had a unique talent of being able to fit a ball into a bad read.
The Browns may be loading up but they have to hit on the QB.
I'd consider taking the two top prospects with my 1 and 4. You can always trade one after a year.
This way you are almost certain to hit on one with a really good QB. They have enough other picks that they could get back into the first round easily.
Crazy? Yes. But I would consider it.

I think you meant to type “ You can like Allen...”They have some telling similarities. I can like Allen all you want, and think he is Farve or Elway, or whoever. I see Hackenberg. Either way Allen is the riskier of the top three IMO.
Joe Namath. HOF. 54.3 in college, 50.1 in the NFL. Some consider him good. Enough to make the HOF.Running QBs always get injured in time. Scrambles who always look to throw first don't, necessarily. Was confused for a sec. Anyways, Allen could be a bust, I question his fottball IQ, motivation, and commitment. If he checks all three of those I go with him without looking back.
They supposedly hope to sign McCarron. Hue knows him well and thinks he can be a good starter. This trade for Taylor makes it seem like that ship has sailed. McCarran doesn't want to be a backup. Seems a QB in the draft is likely but I don't think it will be with the first pick. According to PFF Tyrod Taylor was a top ten QB last year.
Um if he was top 10 he wouldn't have been traded.
He's a good bridge QB though.
Maybe this means the Brownies are out of the Cousins race.
