And replace him with whom, if he doesn’t reach the playoffs again? I’d give him a much longer leash.

I wouldn't advocate for a replacement this off-season if we miss the playoffs. I think that would be a bit too premature. Again, I just think it would warrant putting McVay on the hot-seat for 2021-22. If we miss the playoffs 3x in a row with this roster, McVay has to go. I don't know how you can look past that. Jeff Fisher only got 4 seasons (which I think most would agree was at least 1 too many).... and he was down his starting QB every year, to be fair!

This is all just musing. I expect Green Bay will beat Chicago, handing the Rams a playoff spot regardless of what happens vs. Arizona. I also expect this team to make the playoffs next season.

While I will be EXTREMELY Disappointed if the Rams don’t make the playoffs I DO need to keep reminding myself what the Rams were like PRE-SEAN McVAY!!! I DON’T want to go back to those days!!!

Yeah... When Kupp was identified early, I was wondering if this could get squirrelly.

His “positive test” (or whatever put him in quarantine) was so close to the last game.

Oh come on man, really??,

If we miss the playoffs this year, we would be going into the 2021-2022 season with the possibility of missing the playoffs 3 years in a row.

With a roster that, by all accounts, should be a playoff team.

I have yet to hear any principled response as to why McVay should not be on the hot seat if the above situation occurs, especially as he also must shoulder some of the blame for why the offense has been so ineffective lately. I did not say "fired". I said "hot seat". As in the pressure better be on.

I think we ultimately make the playoffs this season (thanks to a Green Bay victory over Chicago) and next season. But I also think that if we miss the playoffs 3x in a row with this roster, McVay needs to be fired. You can't make excuses for that. We got rid of Fisher after 4 consecutive misses. And that was likely too late. And Fisher was handicapped by Bradford missing entire seasons!

Anyway, I did not mean to bring this thread off-topic, so I'll leave it at that.

Sean's just resting his starters for the playoffs by saying they're injured or covid positive. Blue font

But he should get a 10 year contract! This would ruin that genius idea!

I would say his seat should get warm. He's marched out an offense in 2020 that allows safeties and the linebackers to stay close to the line of scrimmage. There is no threat of a deep pass. This has compromised our offense and given Goff and any other QB limited areas to throw to.

Miami and SF has posted the blueprint to beat this offense. McVay needs to sprinkle in the 2018 offense into the 2020 offensive scheme. He needs a real QB Coach to work with the QBs in the off-season on how to read defense and coverage better. That is the role of the coach, make sure you have the right management in place and the right tools (scheme) to succeed.

I blame Mcvay for dropping the Ball.It starts from the Top.

Yeah- Brockers won’t be missed all that much from what I saw last Sunday.
My reasoning is there is a guy A’ Robinson who needs to step up get some extra Reps in as well.

lol... its happenign all over the league. blaming mcvay is idiocy considering we have hardly had any issues all year.

Naw.
No hot seat.
How many players do the Rams have that you would rate as “excellent”?
I would rate Woods, Kupp, Whitworth, Donald, Ramsey, Hekker and maybe a S.
It’s a solid/good roster it’s not crazy loaded.
McVay needs to be the long term guy unless their is a total implosion.
