I think Jared Goff can sleep a little better tonight. For all the Ram fans that think it was the Offensive Line.

It will be interesting moving forward to see how Detroit builds there franchise. Les Snead will have another scale to hold up to.

It never made sense to me that Holmes would trade for Goff and then draft a qb. Doubling down on the line will maximize Goff's opportunity to be the really accurate pocket passer he is when protected. And it should give the run game a big boost too.

Not sure who Goff will be throwing to... but I suspect Holmes has a further plan.

Better than Mike Maylock!! What a reach!! How many Bama first round picks.

The Lions drafted the Georgia RB last season who was like 2nd best rookie numbers.

Man they should be happy. They got a possible Orlando Pace type talent without having to trade up or anything. They have a hell of an o-line to protect Goff now. If they can grab an every down RB and a decent WR in the next couple of rounds this offense could be very dangerous. Holmes will have that team packed with talent in a couple of years. Kinda looking forward to the Packers and Vikings being at the bottom again with Lions and Bears as top dogs if Fields works out in Chicago after a few seasons. Lions fans deserve a little hope.

Pace? Thats going a little far in my opinion. He is a very solid prospect, but he isn't what Pace was coming out of OSU.

Still, I would think that Lions fans have to be thrilled with Brad Holmes so far.

Of course, day 2 and even more so day 3 of the draft are where the GMs really separate themselves.

I said possible, he's got the freakish agility that Pace had for his size and power. Not quite as freakish physically speaking and he'll have to put in the work to get there but he's got the ability to be that type of player for them.

Good for the Lions I wish them all the very best with the exception of when they play against the Los Angeles Rams.

Yeah - they just keep getting better up front. Miami and there Minorty HC & GM are just tearing it up as well.

I think Jason Peters is a fair comparison. Sewell's dimensions, skillset, and measurables are very similar. But the kid is very much a freak, and he's still only 20 years old (until October). Peters is a 9-time Pro Bowler and a 6-time All Pro. I could see Sewell having a similar career. It was a grand slam of a pick.
