As a young teen, in '67, I watched the Red Sox win the division. -- last game of season, for a $4.75 ticket!!

Scarred me for life... Nothing compares to Fenway park! &. Last night's game was da bomb!!!

Good vid here from the SMART guys here on MLB Network. This is historic.

Pay no attention to the Moron Red Sox hater Rob Parker towards the end. Actually, PAY attention, good example of personal bias grossly affecting ones judgment. Not that he EVER had good judgment to begin with......

Excellent video. Excellent points. Excellent run the Red Sox are on.

The point they made in spades is about winning the trade vs making your ballclub better. The latter is the goal. But in the end, it doesn't matter if you don't go to the World Series. I'm not taking anything away from the Red Sox; they've been playing great and have fought their way back into the conversation.

As far as the last guy....that "moron Red Sox hater" Rob Parker, I agree with him they can't keep this pace up. Nobody can. If they did, this would be even bigger than it is right now. I disagree with him about them making the postseason. They'll make it. The question is, who will they line up against?

And another point is, yes, the Red Sox got hot but they've all got hot TOGETHER. Durbin, Contreras, Rafaela, Yoshida, Monasterio, Abreau. They're all producing way over their career averages. That's what it takes to go 32-6 but don't you think they're gonna come back to earth? How much, a little? A lot? Teams can really regress if those that all got hot, get cold together. The thing is, they got ungodly hot and they're STILL in 3rd place, 6 games out of the division lead.

IMO, they'll probably stay relatively hot over the next 17 games, judging by the opposition. If they get closer to Tampa and pass the Yankees, they're in good shape. If they don't gain much ground over the next 17, their last 29 seems tougher.........@ NYY, Seattle, @Baltimore, LAA, KC, @Texas, @Tampa, Cleveland, Cubs.

It's going to be interesting, for sure. Another Yankees/Red Sox playoff matchup might be in the cards.

There was nothing wrong with the hater Parker saying the Red Sox won't stay this hot. Any idiot knows that. Him saying they will miss the playoffs is outrageous and shows how much he hates this organization personally.

Back to reality, hope they get back on track against the red hot Blue Jays.
I was watching that game last night and that bizarre 4th out rule blew my mind!!!! How in the fuck is it possible to credit them with a run scored if the guy never tug up at third? Whatever that rule is, they need to rip it out of the rulebook!!!!!

Reminded me of that stupid 2PT conversion rule.....

Boston went 32-5 before losing their last 3. They averaged 5.7 runs per game. But they also had good pitching. When they scored 4 runs or more, they went 30-0. When they scored 3 runs or less, they went 2-5. Over their last 3 they scored 3, 3 and 1 run (2.3 R/g). So I guess if they hit, they'll continue to win. Capt Obvious!! I know, I know!!!

The real question is how the f have a brain fart like that on the bases in a 2-0 game. Embarrassing. I have actually heard of the 4th out rule in the past so I knew when it was mentioned the run would count. I was more pissed about the dumb baseball. That was reminicent of how they were playing early in the season. They were a dumb ass team and that play gave me flashbacks.

Looks like the magic if fading. Little things are now going to our opponents. A chance to tie the other night and snowcone catch saves the game for the A's, Duran misread on a ball and even Durbin made an error last night.

It was an awesome streak and had a blast with it. If they are going to turn into pumkins at least preseason starts soon!

The announcers....I think I had the Toronto guys on......blamed it on the scoreboard which had 2 outs displayed. It did change to 1 out as the pitch was delivered...they showed the replay.....but the bottom line is you're professional baseball players and should know how many outs there are regardless of what the scoreboard says. But that rule is ridiculous in the first place.

I have an honest question here. Watching the game on ESPN with Karl Ravetch doing the PXP, I had to turn the sound down. It may be just me but I've always felt certain employees at ESPN were Patriot, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtic fans and there's nothing wrong with that. Bristol is about 100 miles from Boston. My issue is some of them don't even try to hide it. Reality or imagination?

There is probably something to this. Many ESPN employees started in Boston and left for ESPN. Proximity probably has a lot to do with that. Ravech grew up in Boston, so likely a Sox fan. More than half the anchors at ESPN got started in Boston. Gary Strewszich (sp) and Amina Smith hosted NBCsports Boston. Miss Amina, but Gary sucked and still does. But there is several others who got started in Boston. Kay Adams is one and the other host of Good Morning football started there. They all do shows for a year in Boston then leave for the larger networks
