You don't have to keep your comments positive on my account, Boston, I try to be neither negative nor positive, just realistic, same as with Rams and with NFL.

On a note related to the Red Sox, I feel for Jarren Duran. He had some massive self-critique that was absolutely harsh even for self-critique standards (saying that he "was surprised he wasn't released, since he is statistically the worst player in the league". His exact quote.).

Can't help but feel for the guy, especially since he's had known mental health struggles, including depression. Yeah, he's done some frustrating things on the field, but we tend to forget that these guys are human beings, too. Hope he'll be okay, even if it's only for his sake.

Here this. Im still a Duran fan. Yes, he lets the fans get to him and listens to talk radio too much, but by all accounts a good teammate and great talent. He has some unique skills so hoping he can get back to his 2024 play but I am not ready to give up on this player. For as bad a season as he is having he is still going to hit 20 HRs this year.

I tend to get that way with the Dodgers. I had doubts all the way to the end last year. And I'm starting to feel that way again with this current losing streak.

Honestly, I think you guys are just pacing yourselves. You know when the games matter at this point.

Are the Sox that good?
Yes.

Ordinarily, I would point out in their last 27 games (24-3), they've played the LAA (43-71; 5th in West), NYM (49-66; 5th in East), Toronto (54-61; 5th in East), Baltimore 56-58 (4th in East), Oakland 45-69 (4th in West) but they've swept the first place Dodgers, Rays and White Sox. Certainly, they can't keep up this pace but they have a solid team with an excellent bullpen. They're going to be a load to beat.

Are the Sox that good? Or are they peaking too early?
Little bit of both. This pitching staff has been this consistent all year, not fluky at all. When they were like 10 games under .500 and a week or so after Cora got fired, there was an interesting stat/or projection. The Sox offense was so bad that if they were ranked 17th...they were 29th when this report came out that they would of been 8 games over .500 instead of 10 under.

Trevor Story got hurt, then Marcelo Mayer got hurt and things started to come together. Mayer and Story were so bad that just average hitting improved them dramatically. Micky Gasper came up and hit almost .300, Seigler filled in for Mayer and was an instant upgrade. Cheng filled in for Story and put together good at bats and a better defense SS. Now Montasouri is playing SS and on fire right now. Caleb Durbin has also gone from hitting .161 and now he is up to .236 or something now. There struggles was always offense.

Now the hitting has probably peaking too soon. They are bashing now and not sure that is sustainable especially with no Roman Anthony. The pitching now is about to peak now too. Bennet and Tolle are hitting more innings then they have ever pitched so not sure how they manage that. Leaves them, Sonny Gray, Patrick Sandoval and Ranger Suarez who are not on pitch counts for the remainder of the year. Bello could go back in the rotation but he has a 0.69 ERA in the pen and has pitched over 50 inning from the pen...given up 1 run since being demoted.

As long as they get average offense and Tolle and Bennett give them a little something they should compete but they are not built for the post season. Its been a fun season but our story ends in early October unless Crochet somehow comes back

You left out sweeping the Yankees.....that is when things started to turn in late June. :)
