Imo, there's no way the Rams can get in return what they gave up. Any trade or leaving via FA will be considered a failure of course.

Our defense will consist of AD, Ramsey, guys on their rookie contracts, and guys playing for the vet min. Let's hope Goff and Co can put up 35 a game!

Ramsey is also an a-hole to opposing players on the field and gets in their head. Kinda like a Dennis Rodman. That's hard to replace. David Deacon Jones would be proud.

If they can recoup the draft picks they gave up for him, then yes I would consider it. But I don't think they would get two first rounders for him. Although if someone gave up a first, second and 3rd, maybe. Otherwise you gotta see it through. They gave up two firsts for him. They're still a contender in 2020. I think they have to make it work.

The downside is this whole coronavirus thing. I'm sure they thought the cap would be going up considerably in 2021. Now with the economy the way it is, probably not gonna happen. Then again, how much does it affect new contracts? Will players be offered less?

Elite cover corner is a premiere NFL position and from the sounds of it Ramsey will be critical to the success of Staley’s defense.

Besides that I don’t believe in trading away top tier talent at a position that the league routinely covers and drafts top ten regularly. I was against paying Gurley and Cooks. As great as they are, Gurley had prior injuries, TB longevity isn’t usually goodand a good Oline can turn a decent back into a very productive one. Cooks isn’t a number one receiver. He’s more of a complimentary piece. You can’t say that stuff about Ramsey. Keep him, sign him unless he’s asking a ludicrous amount that is impossible to work with.

You've just described every defence in the league, except they don't have AD or Ramsey.

Also I didn't realise $10m was the vet min.

I think we're gonna see a record contract, but with escalators and a gob of guaranteed money.

I could see an avg of $18M with as much as $70M guaranteed, both records.

Byron Jones just signed a 5 yr/ $82.5M contract which comes out to $16.5M/yr with $54M guaranteed.

I think we'll see a contract with Jalen Ramsey of 6 yr/$108M with $68.5M guaranteed. I think it'll be an extension which puts off the bigger cap years off for 2-3 years, but isn't "back loaded" as most people think of it.

I think we'll see a similar contract for Cooper Kupp....which only further illustrates the STEAL that Robert Woods is...

But the only difference I see with Kupp is that he's more likely to go for a 4-5 yr deal than a 6 yr deal.

All this is predicated on the cap not shrinking significantly. If it does, I think players will sign very short deals hoping for a rapid recovery of the cap to pre-COVID levels and beyond.

Damn, I miss football...
