To be fair, the Rams' opponents this year are a combined 1-6 - which means that the only win any of them have is the Redskins game against the Rams. And Bleach Report does have the two teams the Rams beat at #30 and #31.

Let the Rams get wins against teams that have wins themselves (or even have the Colts and 49ers win some games) and the Rams should move up. Especially after the Rams kick the Cowboys ass next week.

Also to be fair the Rams have still won 2 games while the chargers have lost 2 games has to account for somthing.

So why do when the Rams lose they don't get the benefit of being ranked higher...they would be in the 30s if they were 1-2, or even layin a goose egg. The Chargers have LOST so many games in the final seconds dating back to season.

Rams are 2-1. One of the highest scoring Os in the league, top scoring RB in the league, etc etc.

Behind an 0-2 team. Perfect sense.

This early in the season a lot of the rankings are still based on the preseason predictions. The Rams have risen considerably in the rankings, even though they have yet to play a team that has beaten anybody but the Rams.

As I pointed out, as time goes on, the Rams will have victories over teams that, you know, actually can win games. At that point they will rise in the rankings. But it's only an eighth of the way into the season, not something to get panicked about. In fact, based on how these somewhat arbitrary rankings are normally done, rising a dozen or more spots despite having a home loss and having played a very easy schedule shows that the Rams are being shown a bit of respect, actually.

Edit: Oh, and while you mention the pluses, you don't mention that a few hours before the new ranking was done, the Rams had given up 39 points to a team that had managed a total of 4 field goals in its first 2 games.

On the flip side the rams scored 41 points on a d that only allowed the panthers to score 23 points and the seagulls 12 points, in their house.

Absolutely. And thanks to the 2-1 record, even against poor opponents, and a sterling offense, the Rams have moved up from one of the worst ranked teams in the league to middle of the pack, despite their defensive woes.

It will just take a little time for the Rams to keep moving up. Subjective rankings like this ALWAYS factor in expectations, etc. The Rams have moved up a bunch, thanks to their offense and despite their issues.

I don't look at the rankings to see the positions. I like reading the comments about each team. The old scruffy guy that used to do it for si was an excellent read.

For YEARS other teams have played the Rams when they've been down and they haven't been placed lower. It was always something along the lines of "so and so team played well, and other teams should take them seriously."

The Rams can't help who is on their schedule, and it's damn time they kicked the other teams' ass.

Recently, the Rams have beaten playoff teams and teams that would eventually win the Super Bowl (Seattle, Denver). Did anything change? No. Granted, the end of the year record wasn't good, but at the time?

So what? A win is a win. On the road, division. It's impressive...give up 39 and STILL win.

Besides, even with a 2-1 record, the Rams have been playing quite well. They aren't inept, they aren't to be taken lightly, and guess what...players on other teams make plays, too.

When a team like the Chargers finds ways to lose, and they get the benefit of the doubt, that's BS.

Ah, but did they get as much credit for beating the Rams in those seasons as they did for beating good teams? I doubt it. Yes, beating bad teams helps too - and the Rams have moved up from being one of the lowest ranked teams to being middle of the pack already. It's not the case their ranking isn't improving.

I'm not sure what events of years ago, with a radically different team and a whole bunch of losses by the Rams since then, have to do with the current rankings.

Of course, it's not impressive giving up 39 to a winless team that was averaging 6 points a game before Thursday. Net result - they are ranked in the middle, sort of appropriate for a team that hasn't played anybody that tough and has an excellent offense but questionable defense.

We all know the defense will improve - but people complaining want the rankings to be based only on stuff that happens on the field, and based on what has actually happened so far (2 home games, 1 road; 3 weak opponents; 2-1 record; high scoring offense but significant defensive issues) the Rams are currently a middle of the pack team. Which is where they're ranked.

Rams ranking in the middle of the pack makes sense. That doesn't explain why an 0-2 team, that was 5-11 last year, is doing ahead of them.
